Loved Morocco's performances 4 years ago, all the best to them. Low expectations for Sweden, Norway and Portugal.

On the paper Portugal's got some incredibly talented players, a lot are playing at PSG, like Vitinha, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, Gonçalo Ramos, all first class players who could play in any big european team. Apart from that many great players, some a bit old but still.
Norway, yes not in the same bracket as Portugal imo. Sweden, yes, they're playing France tomorrow, it's gonna hurt!

Thanks @Karmacoma, Looking at these brackets and being from the US, we have decent chance in the next game but then we are toast.

Japan, always very commited and impressive physically, but no surprise here, they're out.
I wasn't very impressed by Brazil. It's not gonna be their year.

Phew, that was close for Brazil.

Portugal is all centered around Ronaldo, far less likely to score against the top teams. United shouldn't have given him another run back in the day. The guy know where the goalposts are, but soccer is a team sport, and I don't believe he is good for any team... High probability for a lesson in football for Sweden. Norway is hard to tell, rested all the top players against France, if they win it would be on strategy and tactics probably.

Spain had a really hard game last, other teams will allow them to play more beautiful soccer. Guess Eng, Fra and Spain are likely for the semis, might be that US is the underdog. Home turf and have evolved for quite some time. Won't rule them out for a semi.

The hydration break was invented to place additional ads.
Well, it has existed before when there were high temperatures, and during the last club world cup in the U.S., players were actually pretty happy about this. What's new is placing ads, it's really really terrible.

Portugal is underperforming atm ok, but USA passing Spain or Belgium, that would be really a crazy performance.

Don't know anyone following club wc, but hey... ;)

Trouble is, the break will kill the momentum of the better team at that time, thus it influences the quality of the football. Marathon? take a 5 minute brake times 3. Having said that, the players in top physical condition handles breaks better than less fit or more exhausted players.

They have become more mature as a team, but yeah, that would be a great achievement, if Spain in particular.

If they need hydration because of extreme heat they should go to the side of the pitch away from the coaching staff . Take fluid on board be back playing in 90 seconds . It doesn't need to be a 4 minute coaching session to please the advertisers . I mean marathon runners seem to drink and run at the same time ;)

Well the supporters of the best clubs in the world did, I can assure you of that.
There has been plenty great games, your miss.
That said I'd prefer if it didn't exist, the intercontinental cup is enough, it's an added weight to the players' already ridiculous schedule just to bring more money to the overly corrupted FIFA.

My prediction: Haaland hattricks in every game, we wipe the floor w/Brazil, England and Argentina before humiliating Germany in the final. Ro!

Yup.

Must say the whole shebang is getting more ridiculous every time. 48 teams is at least 24 too many. Infantino is a disgusting joke of a person who has brought this game to an absolute low point by perpetuating corruption and grift. The players are coddled, overpaid man-babies who should not by any measure be held up as something to aspire to. And so forth.
