wondom bru5 pc dsp configurable TPA 3255 "300w x 2" mini amplifier

I just received my bru5, and I am wondering what I should look for when purchasing a power supply for it. I have an old laptop power supply, but I am not sure what specs I should be checking to see if it would work. I am new here. I've been reading the site for a few months, but I'm still ignorant of a lot of the technical stuff. Thanks!

BRU5 power supply requirements - note, I am knowledgeable but not an expert, others can please correct me.
- Power Socket: 2.5mm x 5.5mm plug - this is the standard for most Class D amps - Nobsound/Fosi/Aiyima etc. CENTER POSITIVE + The Bru5 does not come with this plug.
- Voltage: 18 to 48v DC output, 3 amp* minimum current. The voltage input impacts how much power the amp can put out (see below graph). Most people use a 32V 5A supply minimum because they want sufficient power the TPA3255 and 24-36v are not expensive. 18v 5A DC or higher to 48v should not damage the amp. *I am not sure of the 18v minimum recommended amperage rating for the chip, but 3A or more should work.
- I personally recommend power supplies by one of the audio brands, or designed for audio (search Ali Express TPA3255 power supply) because the shielding/noise should be low. Using other power supplies that meet the requirements (like DC Laptop supplies) should not damage anything and might be fine, but may not be shielded from noise so you may hear hum.
- I personally do not trust unbranded power supplies from Ali-Express to provide their rated power. Some will, some may not. But they will probably not damage anything.
Below: the Texas Instruments Power Graph for different voltages - note these are MAXIMUM for the TPA3255 chip, actual amps like the Bru5 will probably not get this high:

So each time I'll switch on the amp, I Need to switch the source? Is there a workaround to avoid this?
Could you suggest a similar ampli with aux input?
The Bru5 has a rear Aux input, but you have to switch the source when you power it up. Workaround is to leave it powered on all the time. It is possible you can disable Bluetooth in the ACPworkbench software, but I do not think anyone has tried that to see if it works.

The Wondom BDM9 board has a switch to default to the Line input. See above in thread. You need to purchase both the PC UI Control Cable and the "functional cables package" shown on the listing page with the BDM9. For Wondom amps purchased at their Ali Express store, you need to message them to get a link to download the ACPworkbench software.

I have ordered BT DSP board, which could use the same DSP as Wondom amplifier. I got ACPworkbench from seller, but the board hasn't arrived yet. I looked a bit at program and can't figure out, how to disable BT. Does anyone know, which input BT is using?

According the graph, maximum Power with 4ohm Is 250w @48v... So the current must be at least 8A....

If you are using the Wondom BDM9 board, I believe there is a physical switch on the board that enables/disables Bluetooth. It is labeled "L/R Analog Signal Work" on the Ali Express Page photo. I think you should be able to look at the BDM9 documentation for specifics on this. The Bru5 does not have this switch.

I do not know if you can disable Bluetooth using ACP workbench. I mentioned it as a possibility because there are a lot of undocumented controls in the app.

Sorry but I Need help with the Power needed.
I Will use two 100w (4ohm) bass shacker...
So I need a 200w Power supply, so about 48v and 4A...
Is It right?
I found this:
But only 48v and 3a... Why Is described as tpa3255 (500w in Total with 4ohm) Power supply if has half of the Power (150w)?

I am not familiar with bass shakers or how much power it actually takes to get the effect you want out of them. I provided the information about the requirements of the Bru5/TPA3255 amps using normal speakers. When a normal speaker is rated at up to 100w, means that is the maximum you should put into them before they start to smoke. Most people listen to their 100w rated speakers using 20w or less almost all the time.

Bass shakers are different, they are not sound but body vibration transducers. To get the best answer on how much power you need for them, you will probably need to look at bass shaker threads/forums. I do not know how many watts it takes to shake your bass (butt? feet?) to a satisfying level ;) I wish I could help.

I have noticed that the BT output sounds different than the CD player output. It is more bass-heavy and muddy sounding. Is this something others have noticed? Has anyone had success with the control software in making the BT output sound more balanced and clear?

Anyone has the same issue I have? - After a reboot, Gains of PEQ filter 0 and 1 are set to zero but all other filters stay the same.
I am currently using Music Pre EQ setting.

Update: If I use Music Out EQ then all filters are ok.

hi all, I'd like to create a band pass filter from to 24 to 50hz (I use the BRU5 with two bass shacker with 20/50hz operating frequency).
is this setting correct?

is correct MUSIC OUT EQ or shall I use MUSIC PRE EQ ?

Don’t want to derail this thread but some have asked for a 2.1 amp… Eiffelton appears to be a new store/brand on Aliexpress. They offer various DSP-Amp modules, and a $41 finished 2.1 TPA3116 DSP amp. Not much details, I don’t think the PSU is included, and they don’t say what DSP chip they use. But the DSP software is also ACP Workbench. 2.1 DSP-amp + passive sub = a way to “rescue” some cheap desktop/bookshelf speakers?

they have two boxed ready to go devices

the 2.0 which would be the go given you all own active subs anyway

the 2.1 which resorts to phoenix connectors since there's hardly any room at the back anyway

very very cheap

but i cant work out how the five knobs on the front work

and this whole site gives me brain cancer trying to work out their "English"

It is not clear to me that ACP Workbench is included free. I see Eiffelton offers "Audio hardware development Software" for $13.59. Acrylic offers ACP limited to their devices for $, so some brands sell it separately.

The 2.1 amp was cheap enough... so I bought one! ...and no, I absolutely don't need it . The Eiffelton store sent me a download link, and it appears to be a custom version of ACP Workbench for MVSilicon DSPs. Here is the front page of the (English) user manual:
1696359197123.png

The manual says v2.25.0, but the actual version of ACP Workbench appears to be v2.30.2.

The BRU5 TPA3255 & TPA3244, the Eiffelton boards & amps, and the $8-17 Nvarcher preamp board appear to all use the same DSP chip from MVSilicon, so they should have similar DSP features and programming options, and the same (good enough but not great?) analog performances.

The package shared by Eiffelton also included a 69p pdf document detailing the DSP communication protocol for FW update & DSP programing. I guess if somebody wanted to develop their own third-party app, it should be possible. I also wonder if this is what the $13.59 Eiffelton "Audio hardware development Software" is enabling or helping with.

Note: The Nvarcher BT DSP preamp board (may be sold by other Aliexpress stores). Same BP1048B2 MVSilicon DSP chip, same MVSilicon custom version of ACP Workbench:
