lol do you know what this is for?

It's for people who track their cars and have cages with 5-point harnesses. Many cars throw codes, warnings, and chime sounds when you don't have your seatbelt clicked. So when people are on the race track with a harness, they use these dummy plugs to keep the car's computer from going nuts.

Yup. Been in modern-ish cars that just keep beeping and flashing lights on the dash until the seat belt is clicked in. That said, it's only when some weight is added to the seat, else it doesn't care.

I'll bet someone a little younger than I am would think these were great and would want them fitted to their car instead of regular seat belts. "Much more comfortable, just as safe, bruv".

Yeah, put a laptop on the front passenger seat and watch the idiot lights start flashing...

Just connect the seatbelt behind you before you get in.
And don't let the PoPo catch you, it can be expensive. ;)
