Well, I play vinyl as well as digital, and I'm pretty confident that your Echo Dot dac will give you better fidelity than vinyl - even with a $5000 cartridge.It does seem that around ASR, if you don't subscribe to Tidal and Roon, or play vinyl with a $5,000 cartridge, you are relegated to carrying out the empty bottles after each party is over; ie, you don't really take audio seriously enough to get invited. Or, you have manure on your boots.

Regarding your comparison of streaming devices. Without measurements it is not possible to tell which of the built in DACs is better. But regardless, it is pretty unlikely you are going to be able to hear the difference anyway. So just go with whichever is most convenent. An external DAC might do better - but it is still far from certain you will hear that 'betterness'
