I like speed skating against the clock, but in team relay anything can happen; falls and disqualifications. The skating ring is just too small, there's not enough room for all the skaters racing in teams. And here that was another good example:

http://dailyhive.com/calgary/canada-speed-skating-disqualification-olympics-2018

The judges when reviewing the videos don't even have to give the reasons.
It is strange, they should rectify that so that the skaters know why they were penalized and disqualified. It is one aspect of the Winter Games where something is missing. I prefer curling.

I'm one week behind on watching the olympics now.... I haven't read any news about it because I don't want to know but I do want to watch it all.

We watch what we are passionate about. We listen to what we are passionate about, we live for what we are passionate about. The Olympic games are one of my passions. Music is another, cinema another, family, friends, people, nature, wildlife, science, space exploration, technologies, man's conquest of peace.

One week behind the Olympics is nothing, man's lifetime history behind peace is something.

The Olympic news is like a trampoline, we bounce on the news with balance and coordination. We learn about the athletes, we appreciate their dedication in their disciplines and sportsmanship. ...And with pictures and videos, we watch live in awe with emotions.

I found this article interesting in the way ourselves are becoming regimental in our criticisms of others.

http://nationalpost.com/sports/olym...e-from-the-olympics-theyll-be-publicly-shamed

We are all losing the balance of human decency; it's a social cultural deficiency that affects everyone on the global platform. It's like the fake news; no government can do anything about it...we are the government, it's up to us to discuss openly and improve our world with all the people living on it.
We are not grounded properly.

Meldonium — believed to help blood circulation.
...And a banned substance.

I take blood circulation drugs myself. If not I can die of a heart attack.

In his case, with that particular drug, my guess is that it also enhances some metabolism faculties, and perhaps giving him an unfair advantage?
___

I just checked:

https://www.rt.com/sport/419390-meldonium-inventor-krushelnitsky-doping/
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...xander-krushelnitzky-what-is-it-a8218151.html

"Its use, according to numerous studies, helps to widen arteries and increase blood flow, which is why it can be used to treat cardiovascular diseases. But it may also have performance-enhancing qualities as a result, with the World Anti-Doping Agency adding the substance to their watchlist in 2015 and banning its use from 1 January 2016 due to its ability to help adjust the body’s use of energy, thus having a greater effect with stamina and endurance.

There is little evidence available on side effects of taking Meldonium, although it has been claimed that it can contribute to tachycardia, a condition which results in a faster-than-normal heartbeat.

It’s for these reasons that any athlete who competes in curling that has knowingly or unknowingly taken Meldonium is highly unlikely to see any benefit in their game whatsoever, and the use of Beta-Blockers is likely to produce a much larger advantage given that it can remove nerves and tremors that can affect an athlete when trying to concentrate on releasing a stone."

Well, that was certainly illuminating.

* Helps concentration when releasing a stone.
> The last paragraph of the posted quote.

By the way, his young wife is très jolie. They look like a charming young couple, and I bet they are.
