Wine thread - what are you enjoying?

In Sicily we are fortunate to have very different soil and climate conditions, from one area to another.
From Trapani to Pantelleria, passing through the province of Messina and then Etna, which in my opinion is the most particular area where the most elegant wines are produced.
Those from the Trapani and Agrigento area are the most pulpy, dense and, I would say, fleshy, almost with a consistency similar to a jam, good for just one glass, two are already too many. But here too there are companies that stand out like https://www.feudomontoni.it/vini/it/.

Morra Gabriele Langhe Nebbiolo 2021 in Amsterdam. Will be there till the 15th if any ASRer would like to hang.

Pineapple syrup, condensed milk, leeks, savoury-sweet toasted coconut, wisp of dryness, clean finish.

An excellent cabernet from Napa and then a pomerol from France. Nice!

If I just had the time…

Paso Robles, not Napa. That’s several hundred miles. :D
Ooops. I mixed it up with another one. Good anyway. ;) The pomerol a notch better.

Opened this last night to enjoy with grilled rack of lamb. Finishing off the bottle tonight with freshly baked baguettes and a charcuterie board. Smooth as velvet and complex. Sadly it's my last one.

I'm living in Spain where almost every +5 eur wine at the supermarket is a very good one.

Picked up this at the Nk'Mip winery a couple of years ago and finally opened it today. Enjoyed it with grilled lamb burgers topped with Saint Agur Blue cheese.

The winery and resort is owned by the Osoyoos Indian Band. The property is absolutely stunning.

How wonderful, such a beautiful landscape moves me. It's pure lyricism!!!

We are heading out to the north fork of Long Island next week. Curious if anyone knows vineyards out there that are actually worth visiting? I admit low expectations but possess an open mind.

Well, if you would like a beautiful setting and a lovely luncheon, I recommend Wolffer Estate of "Summer in a Bottle" fame. Say what you will, the tasting room and the estate are gorgeous.

I have not thought much of any reds I've tasted from the North Fork, but you'll find a decent white and rose.

I'm usually not a fan of rosé, but cabernet d'Anjou from the caves de la Loire is sweet and has body, one of the rare rosé worth drinking to me.
I also like the Coteaux du Layon from the same place, as long as you don't drink more than a couple of glasses, being a very sweet white wine it gets heavy onto your stomach

We stayed in Cornwall last week and happened upon the local store in Constantine - a very small local village.

Except it turned out to be the most incredible wine/whiskey/gin/rum store - they are on the web here (https://www.drinkfinder.co.uk)

Any hoo I picked up a bottle of Astro Bunny wine - here's the blurb .

"British born MW Tim Wildman loves Australian wine. It was the subject of is MW dissertation and in 2010 he established James Busby Travel to take wine trade professionals on educational tours of Australia. He started his own project in 2014 with the Astro Bunny and Heavy Pétting labels, and was very much a pioneer of the pétillant naturel style in Australia. He works in the Riverland with Mediterranean varietals which suit the hot and arid climate there.
The 2022 Astro Bunny is a juicy, silky pet nat made from a blend of three white and one red Italian varieties: Fiano, Arneis, Zibibbo and Nero d’Avola. Pale pink in colour with aromas of strawberry, stone fruits and cream. Lovely persistent bubbles on the palate with plenty more fresh fruit. Tasty stuff!"

Glad to taste something new , but the money would have been better spent on something more traditional :)

Pet Nat is a hot thing in the region, too. Every once in a while, one is drinkable.
