Windows says my DAC has no drivers installed and does not require them?

Have you tried another USB cable?

Also have you tried a factory reset.?

It's not the cable. Just a poorly programmed driver/firmware.
That's my inclination too... I did just find a new problem too. Just sharing for the sake of interest.

The volume level displays on the D50 display in db. You can adjust the volume on the physical device with the joystick "knob". The volume control in the audio device controller software on the PC by Topping does not adjust it. And it does not read it from the device either. It is as if they are not communicating.

Please don't feel compelled to reply.. just sharing one last symptom. :)

The controller software controls the Xmos volume while the joystick and remote control control the DAC chip volume.

Both are capable of volume control via digital signal attenuation.

Making the controller software talk to the DAC chip would be a sizeable effort, which I do not expect Topping to make TBH.

I would try uninstalling all audio drivers.
(Go to Device Manager and there View --> Show hidden Devices)
Then restart Windows and finally install the Topping driver.

I would also uninstall/erase all the hidden USB invalid entries related to the DAC.
Pff...it's a mess dealing with half-baked driver-device implementations.

Does the Topping actually require a proprietary driver? Is the UAC2 driver coming with windows working with it OK? No ASIO, but WASAPI exclusive is equivalent (and supported in players like foobar etc.)
