Thank you so much! I’ll definitely will give Mathaudio a try.You can use Mathaudio EQ for headphones through foobar or others, have a look for foobar components.
Despite the name it can be used for speakers too.
Thank you so much! For some reason I think SMSL (My DAC) suggested asio, but I’ll giveWhy do you need ASIO?
Doesn't a WASAPI driver, even if used in not exclusive mode to make APO work, do the same job?
Thank you so much D! You're right on, the Built-in Fubar EQ's pretty good actually... That's what I've been using happily for the last couple of years! I simply thought maybe I could use another App especially designed to operate as an EQ separately for a better sound.FIY - ASIO has a couple of features/advantages. It doesn't re-sample or otherwise mess with the audio so you can get "'bit-perfect" data into your DAC, and any Windows sound notifications/interruptions are blocked.
But of course, that means no EQ in the driver path between the application and the DAC. I think any EQ built-into foobar2000 should still work.
It's also designed for low latency (for monitoring while recording). But a few milliseconds of delay doesn't matter for playback... I've got recordings with more than 50 years of "latency".![]()
No, ASIO cannot cause too much bass. So, you mean too much Bass has to do with asio…
Try the Foobar2000 equalizer.... works just like an old time analog equalizer https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_xgeqNow I have Mathaudio Room Eq downloaded and need to have its sound adjusted to my liking… now I’m told i have to have a measurement microphone to have my room measured?! All I want is an app to use as an EQ to make my music sound better than what I have now! I watch its videos on YouTube, and it’s like I don’t fly an airplane. Just a simple EQ to operate!! I’m not that savvy!!! Please advise and thanks very much in advance!!
That’s what I’m using now… Simply thought i can find something to give me a better sound from My Martin Logan speakers and Adcom Amp and Preamp! Do I have to have the measurement Microphone to get Mathaudio Eq to work?Try the Foobar2000 equalizer.... works just like an old time analog equalizer https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_xgeq
For manual EQ done " by ear" the foobar equalizer is as good as anything. The "next step" would be objective measurements using a Mic and Mathaudio or similar. That’s what I’m using now… Simply thought i can find something to give me a better sound from My Martin Logan speakers and Adcom Amp and Preamp! Do I have to have the measurement Microphone to get Mathaudio Eq to work?
