Wilson LōKē Subwoofer

The real price is about 500 $, the rest is "church tax" ;)

A 10” paper cone, 500w sub for $8,750+? Um, no, thank you.
Paper cone? Wait a sec… Dayton’s best woofers use either aluminum or carbon fiber. This rip off is even worse than I thought.

So, as an OEM, take the PE prices and cut them in half for Wilson. The two elements of this near $9k sub that actually make the music most likely cost Wilson less than $300.

Sorry, but the fact that Wilson claims to have some proprietary substance they invented for their cabinets sounds like a huge pile of BS. It’s probably standard HDF.

There is nothing unique about this design. It’s a ported 10” subwoofer. This is as banal and uninspired as you can get.

For less than $800, a Rythmik L12 servo sub (got 4 of them) will kick this thing’s ass.

This is Wilson Audio through and through.

Also, let’s not give Michael Fremer a free pass. That A-hole twists himself into knots trying to give this a great review.

He’s not a journalist. He’s a propagandist and a shill.

I hope that for that price it comes with a lifetime warranty at least.
This makes that 5000€ Dali you were complaining about a couple days ago look like a bargain.

I don't know about the 500 watt version of that amplifier, but the 250 watter has a checkered reputation for reliability.
As owner of one of the latter -- I worry a little about that.
This being said, I actually don't even use that subwoofer much* any more.

Here's the other driver in that rather hefty box. :)

Yeah, and that’s a real subwoofer! Poor ROI, sure, but stone cold rip off like this, no.
