For my 2.1 computer desk setup which has a MacBook Pro 14", I currently have the following:

2 x JBL LSR305
1 x JBL LSR310S
Schiit Audio Bifrost 2/64 (hooked up via USB connection to MacBook Pro 14")
Schiit Audio Saga 2

I should be selling all that and getting this for the new 2.1 setup:

2 x Genelec 8340A
1 x Genelec 7370A
Genelec 9320A (will be hooked up via USB connection to MacBook Pro 14" to enable digital connections to the speakers)

Questions

1. What kind of speaker cables will I need for the new setup for digital connections with the 9320A?
2. Will I need to get a GLM mic stand or does it come with one?
3. Any guesses if new/updated models of the 8340A and 7370A are due any time soon? They have been available for quite some time now and new models could be available soon (up to 1 year away)?

7370a is overkill for a desktop system. Even a 7360 would be more than sufficient. Maybe a pair of 8341 with a 7350 is the better choice.

Someone here on ASR said that he has the 7360A with his 8341A and the subwoofer runs out of steam much sooner than the 8341A. Said that if he could, he would get the 7370A. Link to post: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...dio-monitor-review.11652/page-87#post-2611442

If I were getting the 8330A/8331A I would get the 7360A. I listen very loud once in a while and need the speakers and subwoofer to keep up. Even @Mort said his 2 x 7380A are the limiting factor in his nearfield setup with the 8361A.

On bass heavy content yes.

Looks like you need a 110 ohm cable with XLR termination for AES/EBU.

Does not appear to come with a mic stand. You can probably find one in your local secondhand market for cheap. I don't think you need a special one.

No idea.

Congrats on the upgrade!

I think it depends on the frequency of division too (at 85Hz 1x Genelec 7360A will be overloaded sooner than 2xGenelec 8340A, but at 60 Hz, not necessarily).

But if You need more SPL, perhaps 2x subwoofers will be a more flexible solution? If You have one subwoofer You'll better cut him really low for non-localizable frequencies (=higher load on satellites), and then satellites have much more for work (sooner overload), but if You have two subwoofers, you can put subwoofer under speaker, and cut at localizable frequency, for example 100 Hz ... and put more power to subs/less power to satellites (=lower load on satellites)

Thanks.

Any recommendations for a good cable? Is Mogami good?
I heve been using mogami XLR AES/EBU cable - it's well made.

@Mort can You show Your freuency corrections of subwoofer by GLM (whole table, like:

- what frequency cutt of You have? Any "bump bass", or "flat"? ... have You any manual corrections?

Never mind. Don't think I will be able to swing for the Genelec setup for now. I will be selling my current JBLs, keeping the Schiit Audio hardware, and getting 2 x JBL 705P + 1 x JBL 310S MkIII.

Seems the JBL 3 Series MkIII are not available yet. Will wait for JBL's official announcement and availability details.
