Argh. Nasty... Sounds extremely grim indeed.

Been reading Guy Martins' autobiography whilst away. Mountain biking seems to have caused him a lot of grief &injury over the years too.
Up there with his fireball crash at the IOM 2010.

He’s pretty handy on a MTB, which isn’t much of a surprise given his prowess at throwing a bike round the IOM and his cardiovascular fitness was never an issue. He rides a lot up here in my area of Galloway and before SPMS crippled me I used to ride with him a fair bit as I was the local mtb guide/skills coach in the area so met him years previously.

He once turned up to a ride with his bike dismantled and thrown into his V12 Aston , after the ride he hosed it down at the trailhead and threw it back into the car with mud/water dripping everywhere and from himself he jumped into the Aston then hoofed it out of the forest. :D

In person he is exactly as he appears on screen, a totally unique class act and filled with so much natural mechanical knowledge and mechanical sympathy.

Never change Guy.

Kudos mate.
Splendid.

From what I can make out you were both cut from the same cloth when it comes to awesome skills on two wheels.
Both powered and otherwise. Nice one.

Much respect.

Re: The Aston instead of his van: Smart, classy and typically excentric.
Gotta love our G. Martin.

Thanks. Looks like I was in the next valley, southwest of there.

No doubt my girlfriends expression changed about 5 minutes later.

One of the most scary/epic half hours I've had on a motorcycle. Two up, with luggage on a single track road with super steep, narrow hairpin bends. And oncoming traffic. There were places where it would have been impossible to stop due to the angle of the road. Oof.
