Smoke plume -- had to evacuate from this one but didn't reach the house. This was almost ten years ago. Today, there are five fires that broke out around the area, bringing back a lot of (bad) memories (and why I am looking through my old pictures).

This is the "Waterhoek" swamps in Zele, Belgium. Those are swamps that border the "Schelde" river, and flood often in the winter but are dry in the summer.

This is the Bois d'Antoing in januari 2021 that is close to my house, it's one of the typical hill forests in the region "Le Pays des Collines" (land of the hills) in the Hainaut province in Belgium. The valleys between those hills are farmland, the hills remain very old forrests since forever... I'm blessed that i can live in this region, it's probally the most beautifull region in Belgium (or at least one of) and protected as "Parc Naturel" by the gouverment.
