"The Wiim Vibelink Amp does not come with a remote control and does not support pairing with a remote. Both the first and second generation Wiim language remotes are compatible with the Wiim Pro Plus. The Vibelink and Pro Plus need to be connected via a cable, and you can use RCA, optical, or coaxial cables along with a trigger cable for the connection. It is not possible to use a single remote control to turn on both devices with just one button press. "

This doesnt sound right. Then why would you need a trigger cable between the two units?
It is saying that you need a trigger cable to turn the Vibelink on automatically when the preamp (e.g. ProPlus) turns on. I guess 'need' is too strong a word as you could always get up and manually switch the Vibelink on or off as required.

Or even use the WiiM Home App instead (which personally I find about as convenient as manually operating that switch on the backside).

It all depends on how you read it. Everything in this statement is true. You can, of course, use a trigger cable to wake up the WiiM Vibelink Amp from a WiiM Ultra. Technically, it's not the remote waking up the Vibelink Amp. The remotes wakes up the Ultra, the Ultra's trigger wakes up the Vibelink Amp.

Since we don't know the exact question you've been asking their response might be anything between 100% correct and not helpful. :)
My exact question was I have a Pro Plus. If I buy a vibelink can I control both from the pro plus remote and turn them both on remotely with one button push. Their answer is no even with trigger cable.

And the correct answer would have been:
No, you cannot control both from the WiiM Pro Plus remote, because WiiM Vibelink Amp is a power amp, which doesn't need to be controlled.
Consequentially, no, you cannot the volume knob on the WiiM Vibelink Amp using any remote.
Yes, you can control the output level of the WiiM Pro Plus using its remote as long as you do not enable fixed output.
Yes, waking up the WiiM Pro Plus using its remote can also wake up the WiiM Vibelink Amp, if you connect the two with a trigger cable (2,5 mm on the WiiM Pro Plus side, 3,5 mm on the WiiM Vibelink Amp side).

Never heard of or seen that particular trigger cable config. Thanks. I would have been pissed if I got the Vibelink and all I had was same same on each end.

Straight from Wiim. I have a pro plus and was thinking Vibelink but I want a one button turn on and control solution from my listening position.
huge misunderstanding here - the remote (trigger) cable works FINE (probably any device with a trigger input) between WiiM devices, specifically the Vibelink and the Ultra -
currently, when I press the "power" button on the WiiM Remote for the Ultra, it turns off the Vibelink and vice versa. should work exactly the same with the Pro Plus .
having said that , I don't understand the "It is not possible to use a single remote control to turn on both devices with just one button press. " when a Pro Plus trigger cable connected to the Vibelink. maybe it's something to clear with WiiM Support

makes you wonder why Wiim configured/spec'd the trigger jack that way and then supplied and adapter

i will go find the Pro Plus box with its extra cables / adapter inside it and take a picture, if @jimmyjames8 "needs a proof" and send it in a PM . I'm not feeding the trolls
I dont need proof of anything. I dont think I got one with my pro plus. Would have to dig out the box. Still doesnt answer the question either way. Me thinks they spec'd the "wrong" jack size when everything else I own with trigger jacks is 3.5mm. The adapter is an after thought to cover their (fill in the blank).

they f@ked up with the trigger jack size, and added later on the adapter in the Pro/Pro Plus boxes. it's the only reasonable explanation

I’ve gotten 2 wiim pro pluses in the past year and half and both came with a trigger adapter

Picture is from wiim support, See trigger adapter bottom right corner of “what’s inside”
