WiiM's room correction is just automated PEQ, for now.Nothing on how ‘room correction’ differs to peq either.
Is this even practical in a home? Can you name a system that does this? Prices?WiiM's room correction is just automated PEQ, for now.
No fancy FIR correction.
But it can still be helpful, right?WiiM's room correction is just automated PEQ, for now.

Compared to the Pro+ and RAW-MDA1, the Ultra also adds a display for showing album art and track progress, an ARC input for connecting to TVs, and a USB port for attaching USB storage or USB DACs.Is there anything I’m missing where the Ultra could be a better option?
Just bear in mind that none of those will impact sound quality unless you suffer from audible ground loop noise on your analogue out - in which case the balanced outputs might help.while the RAW-MDA1 has new dual ES9039Q2M chips, XLR outputs, dual digital coaxial and optical inputs, and better power supply.
Thank you for pointing out those features. The ARC input and USB storage are handy to have. I don’t care for the display as it’s stored in a cabinet 10ft away.Compared to the Pro+ and RAW-MDA1, the Ultra also adds a display for showing album art and track progress, an ARC input for connecting to TVs, and a USB port for attaching USB storage or USB DACs.
Thank you for your advice. The upgrade cost will be the same with either option. As you said it comes down to what features are more valuable for my needs.Just bear in mind that none of those will impact sound quality unless you suffer from audible ground loop noise on your analogue out - in which case the balanced outputs might help.
Make your choice based on which features you need, and what you are prepared to pay for them. Not on sound quality where the Pro+ is already audibly perfect. If the newer products you are considering don't have features you need - then stick with the pro+

You listed the the feature differences, but nothing about your usage context or what challenge / benefits you are seeking to gain. So extremely hard to say what is a better option for your situation. A lot also depends on whether your bias style is integrated vs. components.I’m looking for some help in deciding if it’s worth upgrading to the WiiM Ultra for WiiM Pro owners. I’m now considering instead of upgrading to the WiiM Ultra to just keep my Pro+ and adding the SMSL RAW-MDA1.
The WiiM Ultra just has an older single ES9038Q2M chip while the RAW-MDA1 has new dual ES9039Q2M chips, XLR outputs, dual digital coaxial and optical inputs, and better power supply.
The Ultra has a dedicated sub output for easier bass tuning and BT 5.3. Is there anything I’m missing where the Ultra could be a better option?
I’m looking for a headphone amp/DAC that can be incorporated with my stereo sound system. Trying to connect the Wiim Pro+, CD player, TV, and PS5 into one unit feeding my integrated amp. I don’t know how good of a headphone amp the WiiM Ultra will be but it looks like it can do everything I need. I’m leaning towards RAW-MDA1 x Wiim Pro+ but I like the all in one Ultra setup. You listed the the feature differences, but nothing about your usage context or what challenge / benefits you are seeking to gain. For my context (home office / desk stereo), I use a WiiM Plus as a Squeezebox, Airplay, Amazon Music, etc. network digital streaming source. The WiiM device is at the back of my AV rack (keeps cable mess hidden away), and connects via a single S/PDIF to my DAC with a volume control knob that is within easy arm's length.
So for me, it is an easy recommendation: downgrade your WiiM Pro to a WiiM Plus and add a DAC that supports the 2.2 multi-channel output that you need. But that is my situation. Your situation may be completely different and the Ultra is spot-on perfect for you.
