WiiM Ultra

That should work just fine.

PC via Toslink
TV via ARC
Music via WiFi/Ethernet

If your PC is connected to the TV via HDMI, then you can use ARC for both the PC, and any streaming Apps running natively on the TV.
Sorry me again.
So if I connect the computer to the TV, and then the TV via HDMI ARC to the Wiim Ultra I will be able to play anything from the TV or/and the computer to the Wiim?
Can the internal electronics do something with the signal at the TV? Like adding jitter or internal DSP that makes signal worse? Or that depends on the TV, or it's impossible since is digital signal.
Nice. Anyway also I can use the digital toslink if needed directly to the Wiim from the PC.

I am not sure about the lag/latency anyway, it will be like having the pc connected to a DAC? because in the end I Need instant sound response for a movie if not I will experience lag between sounds and dialogs... That's my only concern, I am close to pre order.

Correct, as long as the TV is turned on.

I don't think that HDMI ARC passthrough while turned off is something that TVs can do.

Technically yes.
It depends on the TV model, but in general I would not expect an audible impact.

I wouldn't expect any issues WRT A/V desync when using the WiiM Amp or WiiM Ultra, but I do not have personal experience with them.

Just got an email from Amazon with an update.

There isn’t even a product page on Wiim website.

Nothing on how ‘room correction’ differs to peq either.

this may to obvious to some but the phono and the rca in would pass thru an ADC in order to work

ie. there's no analog passthru

this should have been obvious given this is a digital product first

the BT 5.3 sounds good on paper but i beleive it only supports SBC AAC and the new low energy 'LE3' standard.

I’m looking for some help in deciding if it’s worth upgrading to the WiiM Ultra for WiiM Pro owners. I’m now considering instead of upgrading to the WiiM Ultra to just keep my Pro+ and adding the SMSL RAW-MDA1.

The WiiM Ultra just has an older single ES9038Q2M chip while the RAW-MDA1 has new dual ES9039Q2M chips, XLR outputs, dual digital coaxial and optical inputs, and better power supply.

The Ultra has a dedicated sub output for easier bass tuning and BT 5.3. Is there anything I’m missing where the Ultra could be a better option?

Just bear in mind that none of those will impact sound quality unless you suffer from audible ground loop noise on your analogue out - in which case the balanced outputs might help.

Make your choice based on which features you need, and what you are prepared to pay for them. Not on sound quality where the Pro+ is already audibly perfect. If the newer products you are considering don't have features you need - then stick with the pro+

Compared to the Pro+ and RAW-MDA1, the Ultra also adds a display for showing album art and track progress, an ARC input for connecting to TVs, and a USB port for attaching USB storage or USB DACs.
Thank you for pointing out those features. The ARC input and USB storage are handy to have. I don’t care for the display as it’s stored in a cabinet 10ft away.

Thank you for your advice. The upgrade cost will be the same with either option. As you said it comes down to what features are more valuable for my needs.
