More coax and Toslinks and a USB.
I take your point. But in the other hand, there’s already optical in, HDMI in, USB in and streaming in, so that’s 4 + 2 analogue.
We can always use more, but that’s not bad.

Same fidelityPurely as a DAC how does the Ultra compare to the RME DACs?View attachment 369693
From the announcement on the WiiM forum it has Bluetooth 5.3. It does not support aptX or LDAC codecs. However, it does support the BT LE Audio codec LC3, in addition to SBC and AAC codecs. But I can't stop thinking that, at least, a coax spdif input more shoul be mandatory for a device described as a preamp and digital hub. Does anybody know the bluetooth codecs avalaible on the Ultra?

Without LDAC bt is not a digital input you can use if you are seeking for audio quality reproduction

No equal loudness function.Same fidelity
Less output voltage
Max PCM24/192, no DSD support (I think?)
Needs custom cables for balanced output
More flexible EQ
For my needs 3 coax and 2 opgical inputs are the minimum necessary. Yes, one can add a switch box but i don’t want to increase the box count. BT is not a substitute for additional SPDIF inputs.Inputs:
Line, Phono, Network, Toslink, ARC, Bluetooth, USB Storage
(= 2x Analog, 5x Digital)
Outputs:
Line, Sub, Headphone, Coax, Toslink, Bluetooth, Network, USB Audio
(= 3x Analog, 5x Digital)

I'm more interested in BT transmission so that I'm not tethered to my desk with wired headphones. I use wired headphones with a Qudelix-5K when there's noise from apartment renovations in my high-rise building, or road work outside my windows. Especially for classical music, the quality difference between BT codecs is obvious for concentrated listening. I currently use my Android phone plugged into a charger for this, but would much prefer to use my WiiM without connecting a dedicated BT transmission device. For playback from phones, it also supports Chromecast and AirPlay. For streaming, it supports almost every US service (except Apple Music) plus it supports Roon. Bluetooth LDAC would be nice, but I don't think it is a big issue given the other options.

Currently, you can use your iPhone's or iPad's built-in microphone.Seems like room correction can only be done with apple devices/ ios. A bit of a bummer...
I know you can do it with an iphone or ipad, but i don't want to buy one.Currently, you can use your iPhone's or iPad's built-in microphone.
WiiM are also looking into external microphones connected via USB to the App.
WiiM are also evaluating whether it is feasible to use the WiiM Remote's built-in mic for in-room response measurements.
