An alternative is to plug your turntable into an external ADC, then feed the output from that into the optical in on the WiiM.
It depends on the output of your cd player and turntable. But logically should work here:Why ? That's not a line in for a turntable and where do i connect my cd player ?

How am i gonna connect my pc to my streamer (for room correction)
It's weaker than the digital side, but it's not weak, it should be audibly transparent for most people in normal use cases. But the ADC in the Ultra is one of the few weak points, and unless you're not as bothered about the sound quality, I wouldn't use the analogue (either line or phono).
Agreed, they are so close to a fully featured pre amp and streamer combo, but not enough inputs for all use cases.A real shame there's only one digital input on the Ultra.
You misunderstood me. I'm suggesting the same as diagrammed above.
Not with any of the current models.Don't know if possible but would low it is the screen on an ultra amp, streamer can be sendt to pc monitor or tv
They should make a USB hub and input module, or maybe several variants, to allow people to add extra inputs. The USB would allow them to include signalling to indicate to the ALSA layer the format arriving on coax/toslink inputs, and/or allow switching multiple inputs through a single device (say switching line inputs on a single ADC, or multiplexing coax/toslink into the existing toslink input via a jumper instead of the USB control proposed earlier). Stick them in an enclosure that stacks with the Ultra, and integrate the control into a new firmware/app version.Agreed, they are so close to a fully featured pre amp and streamer combo, but not enough inputs for all use cases.
Yes, but an optical switch for when you use the turntable isn't really that much hassle is it? I mean, you do have to get up and down to put records on so you'll be there already and doing a lot more manipulation than just flicking a switch. Or get an automatically switching optical switch and have zero hassle.I don't know, I didn't know you were doing that.

One option is a simple optical switch (cheap and transparent), but I understand many won't want the hassle.

On the PC are you using the browser interface to Tidal or an app? If the browser, it may just be a limitation of the Tidal interface on web, or see if there are any other settings in the web interface. If an app, have a look into the app settings. When i play an album in 24 bit 192khz quality from tidal on my pc, wiim ultra is showing 16 bit 192khz (pc and dac is of course set to 24 bit and 192khz)
On my phone playing the same song, record using tidal connect it shows 24 bit 192khz on the streamer
WHY ?
what happens to the optical input now? can you fix it?I just had my second experience with a broken Toslink input on an Ultra. I attach and detach it once a month and it lasted a little more than a year.
Another time, I pulled out the sleeve of an RCA jack with a male that fit too tightly.
This is not a damnation of the company or the product. I do have a lot of Wiims and like them a lot. Clearly the problem could be me.
Still, go easy on that back panel!
