Not in the UK. Nothing from Wiim is listed on black Friday deals.Looks like everything but the amp pro is discounted.
You should only need to be running the DLNA server. You'll need to set up your NAS so the server knows where your music is, and can serve it out to the network. The ultra should be able to find it then.Yes, a WD My Cloud NAS. An older model but latest update to OS5, which says it has DNLA. I am not savvy in this area of the digital world, but the WD page says I can add Townky or Plex Media.
I currently have Volumio on a TinkerBoard and it has not issues detecting the My Cloud NAS and music on it.
Not in Germany - still 399€. Pricedifference just crazyIf anyone is wanting a Wiim Ultra, Amazon has them on sale for a decent discount now:

Agreed - all wiim has achieved in this house is me taking them off my radar until they stop trying to rip off those of us this side of the pond. Not in Germany - still 399€. Pricedifference just crazy![]()
You have found a cheaper alternative?Agreed - all wiim has achieved in this house is me taking them off my radar until they stop trying to rip off those of us this side of the pond.
My current raspi / picore player solution works fine, at lower cost than the ultra, pro or pro+, but has a 7inch screen. Screenless raspberry pi solutions are possible at about half the cost of a mini. You have found a cheaper alternative?
In America, Europe left without black fridayJust dropped 20% on Amazon today …

In the US it appears to exclude the Amp Pro. But we are not to complain.Looks like it's for all WiiM products.

That is really annoying. People in the US that want audio stuff like this might want to buy before the new admin takes office because stiffer import taxes/tariffs for Chinese companies are on the horizon, and they won't be paying it, we will.Bloody annoying, I just had a look on Amazon.com and it’s available to the UK but $449 once import tax is added, I hope it’s reduced next week
Given the votes your comment is in the vast minority. I'm a bit shocked you're a moderator and to be frank your comment makes me think you work for a competitor. Asking someone if they got paid because they like a product with no proof from a moderator is wrong.I get my current salary doubled for each product I endorse…
Amir just adds a Zero to the end of my paycheck.

I think perhaps there’s humour in AdamG’s comments which have been lost to you in translation.
BTW, I funnel the cash to them through a slush fund in the Cayman’s.
Just for the record. It’s just my opinion about the product and how it tested. For the price in this market segment. The device offers a great deal of functionality and has commensurate measurable performance. My opinion is worth nothing more than anyone else.
