Wiim Ultra steamer advanced EQ and P.E.G settings is fun to play with.

SB1000 PRO has bass management, hence it can be connected using one normal quality 75 ohm Van Damme RCA cable . Use Y-splitter too.

REL high level is also an option too
Can be done with the SB1000 PRO also.
I can then adjust everything using the SVS sub .

Low level will take some tweaking

High passing the mains with the Ultra is “optimal “ if you ask around .

AS701 cannot in principle operate as a proper amp . It would sort of “behave “ like one ,or at least I need to adjust the volume settings on the Wiim and Yamaha .
Would it be better to invest in the new Marantz Model 70 or Marantz Stereo 70 ?

Does anyone know if this models both have the ability to operate like power amps and the ability to high passing the main speakers. .

If you only want mono sub(s) Wiim Ultra can do all the preamp control duties, plus handle crossovers, all of which are best done at line level.

There are many very powerful high SQ power amps now available for very low prices. Buy those based on what your speakers need.

Discussions on those topics, or other power amps would deserve a separate thread

I connected WiiM (Line Out) to my Denon 3808ci (Ext. In), set the Denon's volume to 0dB (reference volume) and control all the system by WiiM, so the Denon it's only a power amp, all the processing it's being taking care by WiiM.

WiiM configured to Hi-Red (24-bit/192kHz), connected my sub M&K MX-150 THX to WiiM (Sub Out), ran the RoomFit, ran Subwoofer Calibration (you have to try the beta test to use this tool, that applies delay and recommend sub level, of course you can adjust as you like).

Sub crossover set to @75Hz and +8dB (WiiM) and in the subwoofer (itself) it's 75% level.

My KEF R3 Meta sounds AMAZING!

it's obvious he hasn't done proper A/B testing comparing the Ultra connected to external DAC on USB , and another Ultra connected to RCA output, to properly evaluate what he hears.

is he trying to gain subs/views by bashing the Ultra on purpose, and creating a small controversy?

The wiim ultra is a very fine unit, it doesn't have any competitors at the price point up to 500-600 euros, above that i have no idea, experience, eversolo,cambridge audio and other streamers at the same price is no match for a wiim ultra with all of it's features and good sound, just about up to 50% more than it's price.

Im not even gonna watch it, it's not at all overhyped, give me an alternative with room corretion and better sound new for under 400 euros and i will sell my wiim ultra and buy the better streamer with aut room correction

EDIT: @Pausi what do you mean by "old remote"? the remote he has on top of the Ultra looks the same like the one i got with my Ultra (about a year ago) and Pro Plus. are they shipping now Ultras with "remote ver 2" (the white one)?

Another case of a listener letting their perception be unknowingly influenced by all the subliminal factors present during sighted listening. Two observations that I've made before: 1) if brand, appearance, cost, reputation, size/weight and so on are what's required to allow a piece of gear to sound "better" to them, great! Have at it. They are the ones who have to deal with those factors while listening after their "test". 2) However, just don't expect anyone else to agree with you. That's not science that can be repeated by others.

I don't think the new one will hold any water to a WiiM Ultra in terms of measurement and software.

But Fosi can't be blamed for marketing. And redundant shillers are kind of normal in that mix.

I have a wiim pro that I just use for streaming and room correction.

I think oldguy misses the point with room correction. He calls it a bandaid for a much larger problem, and to really fix room issues, the listener should physically correct the room and/or ajust sitting position.

Im a family of 4, in an L shaped living room, and the Pro's correction remedies much of the imbalance that my environment causes.

If I cared enough or had the option to have a dedicated listening focused room to the exclusion of any other family function, I'd probery not be using a $300 DAC streamer.

Its a great product. Obviously 2 years late, he is just flipping the script for revenue.

Seriously, is there any real compromise with the Ultra? To get the same features with Eversolo you'd need the new DMP-A8 gen2 at 5x the price.

For build, analogue component quality, screen the Eversolo does seem the superior unit.

However since I use digital out, and need squeezelite, and the Ultra is several times cheaper the Ultra does the job
