WiiM Ultra integration w/ Schiit SYN, LS50 HP/LP crossover filtering

Yes I will be trying all permutations as time allows

I believe stereo separation for the "higher parts of the low end" frequencies where LS50s are lacking will help with the imaging. Wiim (and SYN) have just one mono LFE output.

It seems Wiim is well suited for the room correction, and doing that separately from the other EQ functionality (loudness being #3 and T/M/B "ad-hoc tone" #4) will I think help me keep things sorted.

OK, now looking at using a Wiim Amp Ultra as Power Amp for the LS50s fed by SYN's main "front L/R" outputs

Very flexible 30-250Hz "crossover", really HPF since I want stereo woofer "basstands" not using the Wiim mono LFE output.

I plan to set xover @170-250, experimenting measuring LS50 SPL to get "safe maximum" (suggestions for measuring / limiting - not compression would be most welcome)

Filter slope is "brick wall" 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley (4th order) which I think is good?

Phase toggle is irrelevant?

Also besides crossover, the Wiim PEQ can do speaker-level correction with only the LS50s going, use another Ultra as master source and for roomfit correction.

I might use same-room Wiim Grouping over Ethernet when streaming, but prefer simplicity of SYN handling the 5.1 distribution, no interest in Dolby for that.

Center needs to have oomph relative to L/R LS50s

and can be full range I think, so might just use 3e A7 for that, maybe a pair for SPL but in mono.

The "basstands" I'll likely use a second WAU, and output THAT LFE if I still need true sub(s), phase/delay tuning is relevant there

and maybe Roomfit good enough overall.

The WAU #2 will cut off the basstands' high end, xover manually adjusted relative to the LS50 HPF so minimal overlap

At least my thinking so far, all constructive feedback welcome ideally with learning URLs to fill in knowledge gaps here exposed...
