WiiM says their 'WiiM Sound' loudspeaker is awaiting FCC authorization amidst the U.S. federal government shutdown and the introduction to the U.S. market has been delayed.

No AirPlay or Apple Music. Definitely some kind of beef with Apple, right?

Yes

WiiM devices that support Dolby Digital 5.1 playback are not compatible with Airplay

I am not certain but I believe Apple has granted Sonos exclusive rights to this combination of features.

Adding a WiiM Mini (or other Airplay-compatible WiiM device) to the WiiM ecosystem can bring Airplay capability to WiiM devices that do not support Airplay.

A WiiM Mini supports Airplay and can be 'grouped' in the WiiM Home App to send 'Airplay audio' via WiFi to WiiM devices that do not support Airplay.
