I'm wondering too if I can add 6 db on all Frequencies without any distortion or if the mean in flat response only.

invites you to think about the consequences of removing drc in eq on mode...
its impact...
its interest in these circumstances...

You can't add 9dB gain and avoid distortions if you don't lower the volume. The EQ mode seems to have around -1 dB pre-gain actually.

You mean the new firmware EQ setting?
I now use a max eq gain of -1.4 db and adjust the other settings below that.

I mean the new FW. You can find below how a pre-gain has been applied to the 0 dBFS sine wave. If you apply too much gain in the EQ and your audio will exceed 0 dBFS, you will face clipping effects.

Please ignore my previous post about WiiM Pro sending home too much data.
As @Lasker and @onlyoneme suspected, since my firewall blocked all the connections, WiiM Pro was attempting to constantly reach the internet. That's where the bloated data came from. After turning off the firewall rule, the traffic dropped significantly.

For the last seven days, WiiM Pro only sent 8471 bytes! So I decide not to worry about this too much.

AirPlaying from Mac Music App works consistently and feels very stable so far.
RCA sound out was disappointing, but a cheap external DAC significantly improved the sound, so I am happy with this purchase.

Some questions about wiim pro functionality, trying to figure out if it meets my use case. Thanks very much for you help

1. If I play music via chromecast, does the trigger wake up the amp and shut it down after I stop playing music?
2. If I connect a Tv via optical, does the audio source switch automatically if it detects audio coming via optical vs network, or does switching sources always need the app?
3. Finally, since it supports chromecast, can I ask google (using my nest mini) to play music on it similar to other devices that support it?

I'm considering buying a Wiim Pro as a replacement for HEOS in my Denon AVR.
My music is neatly organized on a NAS. I use the uPnP media server on the NAS and select the music in folder view, not on tags like title, album or artist.

This does not sound promissing. A good UI is important to me. That’s the reason I will dump HEOS.
Does anyone use WiiM in this way?

In this topic I cannot find anything about the possibility of playing DSD (dsf-files) when connecting a WiiM Pro coaxial to my AVR.

There is no DSD support I'm afraid, but I've attached a few screens of the 'home music share' section.
I have an external hard drive connected to my Zen WiFi router and I've had no problems with playback at all, but it's been a while since I've used HEOS for local media playback.
In general the UIs are very similar to be honest, I haven't hooked my Wiim up to my AVR for that reason.

I don't use the trigger, or Google devices, but as far as question 2 - it will switch to toslink as the source when it detects a signal, but only if the player is idle, otherwise you have to switch inputs via the app.
(This is according to the input section on the app, I haven't actually tested it)

Hi Broer,

As stated earlier, the WiiM UI is not as mature as some others (eg Yamaha WXC-50). But Wiim staff are working like beavers to upgrade the software, every second week there is an up-grade. They are also response to tickets, it has been said so by many.
One can actually use other uPnP controllers, as HiFi-cast. Works fine with WiiM pro, of course with some limitations.

Funny enough, I do exactly like you: NAS with a file structure which I then use also on the apps. It is then quite important to get album art as well!
- As I stated in the earlier post, this is possible with a trick. which indicates that it would be very easy for the WiiM developers to make this default.

The Wiim Pro / app has of course some rather specific features, as eg it sorts and plays all tracks in a folder according to track number, and not according to file name / number. Also this should be easy peasy for the developers to include options for in what way the user want tracts sorted.

I got the Wiim Pro as I was curious if it should be better (UI, audio quality) than Yamaha WXC-50. Simply put: it is not. Thus, a bit of wasted money - as the Wiim isn't expensive I might survive anyhow. And it might improve over time :) This is maybe how the Wiim should be regarded: price/performance is excellent, and at that price point one should not expect high end quality.

Just ordered a Wiim Mini for 91€. Its my third Wiim. I had some Yamahas (wxc50, wxad10, rn 803d). All very nice devices, connected and controlled with MusicCast. Works very nice. But no more development of the Software, no updates and no User Forum. And no Amazon Music support. I sold all Yammis for good prices and replace them with Wiim, Topping , Loxjie and Audiophonics. Better Dacs, better streamer and better Amps. Very happy now. And as a professional Software Developer, I admire the work of the Wiim Team very much. Thank you, guys.

My main setup
Looks like a nice setup, does the Topping DAC include auto sleep/wake-up? Have read good things about the SMSL D-6 but it does not seem to have the sleep on absence of signal and wake-up on signal detect facility. Having said that, I do prefer the overall look and design of the SMSL D-6.

Yes, ist does. When I switch on my TV, it triggers the Wiim pro via toslink. The Wiim triggers the dx3 by coax connection and the amp with a 12v line. I like it very much.
