It's truly amazing they can offer it at such a low price, considering hardware and software it packs. Topping and the likes have low-mid grade DACs at this price point.
Yes. You can get similar performance with an RPi-based streamer and separate DAC for similar money, but to have it all packaged so well is just great. If I didn't already have the setup mentioned I'd be very tempted.

But AFAIK, you did not review the Pro version, did you? So then are you comparing the Plus to the standard Wiim (puck) version which you reviewed?
I did not. But their measurements show the wide gap that I was talking about.

can i use PEQ with digital out on it? im guessing yes, but still need to be sure, thx

Great product! Is this the best desktop streamer so far?
Having a max output voltage configurable to 1V lets you use it with a Hypex NCxxMP power amp with no fears. This is a plus over any topping/smsl dacs so far.
I'd love to have it with xlr...
The Allo Boss2 mesures in the exact same ballpark and has Roon support already now.

But the Allo Boss2 is nearly not aviable and the Software / App of the WiiM seems to be just beautyfull. Absolutely professional made - like Sonos. I have read, that the WiiM founders are a team of ex Top Google engineers who started their own business. So -no wonder that chromecast works flawlessly!
Nice to know that you can save your money for a dedicated DAC, if you go with Allo Boss2 or WiiM Pro Plus.
With these devices, a dedicated DAC will not increase your sound quality.

Why no jitter analysis for digital output?

Quick question but do you think there is a difference in performance between the Pro and Pro Plus if you intend to keep everything in the digital domain? I plan to connect TV -> Wiim Pro or Pro Plus -> Genelec G3330 with a combination of optical and SPDIF to AES/EBU cables. I have no intent to use the analogue inputs/outputs. Just trying to figure out if the price difference is worth it if there is no fundamental difference in performance or functionality.

In a related question, would the Bluesound Nodes have comparable performance if everything is kept in the digital domain? I know the Bluesound Node is apparently fine if fed to an external DAC, I would assume the hardware within the Genelec G3330 would do most of the lifting in this case?
The digital volume control on the Bluesound node is not tested . It might be good or bad. Vintageflanker has tested the digital volumecontrol for the WiiM pro and its a true 24 bit control with no SRC going on . No issues if you want to use it as a digital preamp into an external dac.
Amirm has done a review of the node :

I know it measures better but is the DAC in the Pro Plus audibly better than the DAC in the Pro? I have a Pro and use the analogue output so I wondered if upgrading to the Pro Plus I would hear an improvement?

No, 50% would be -30.

A great question IMHO. The manufacturer's specs look honest and show that the Pro is *not* transparent to CD Red Book level. I don't know what my personal threshold is but would like at least Red Book transparency. <https://wiimhome.com/wiimpro/specs>
