Wait, you can use a 10-Band-PEQ/channel for your speakers (correct them) and use room correction(RoomFit) on top? Do I got this right?
No. Roomfit occupies the same PEQ filters as the user configurable PEQ.

After Roomfit is complete, you will find the resulting PEQ preset among your Custom EQ presets.

There you can modify the Roomfit preset however you want.

However, you do not get an additional 10 or 20 PEQ bands on top of Roomfit.

That is exactly what I understand, that I can activate both Roomfit AND EQ\. And that is what I see in the app.

What i found:
The difference is the usb version has its own analog to digital conversion circuit (ADC).
The non usb version would rely on your own devices ADC which may not be consistent across devices, and/or may impact the result.

Update i bought the usb c version from audiophonics (love that shop, ALL those thing they have, it must be a super big shop, almost as big as thomann.de)

What do you mean by usb/non usb version?

With all the updates to PEQ, introduction of HP and LP filters and room fit what is the current thinking on the best settings to employ when using PEQ?

From what I remember it was something like....
1. Only use between 50 and 400 Hz
2. Have the sub out switched on even if only using 2 channel speakers
3. A maximum Q of 4
5. A maximum boost of 9db
6. A minimum cut of -2db

Perhaps you mixed up the threads?

You were previously talking about the Dayton mics for WiiM correction here: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...rnal-mic-for-wiim-ultra-room-correction.60827

If you continue the discussion in another thread with zero context, then there'll be confusion.

Room fit isn't it room correction ?

If you have the option a better mic then a tablet phone is recomended

For the app to control the sound, can it be changed so it displays vu meters when streaming, using the app for music (radio, tidal, spotify, youtube)

The app does not have a vu meter display. The Wiim Ultra screen has an option to display a vu meter in a variety of colors.

Could be fun to have one, you then have to stream from the phone, tablet app

It's often only higher tier amps, streamers all in one units that has it

I was wondering the same…

Any thoughts or other suggestions about the best settings ?

I just use stock and only down to 30hz

I dug my WiiM Pro (not Plus) out of storage last night and connected it to the Topping EX5 at my bedside via TosLink (The WiiM Pro replaced an RPi 4 running PlexAmp headless).

I hadn't played with the Wiim Pro for several months (maybe a year) and the experience has improved quite a bit for me. Plex integration is much better, it was easy to enable lossless for Spotify and I finally got around to setting up PEQ for my HD560S (this really needs an upload facility, inputting 10 bands manually was painful).

The system (WiiM Pro & EX5) wakes itself up automatically when I connect to the WiiM from my phone or tablet. When the WiiM goes to sleep after 2 minutes, the EX5 goes to sleep shortly after. This is a big useability improvement for me over the setup with the RPi 4 and PlexAmp which had to be turned on and off.

Hi everyone - new user here. I'm considering buying a Wiim pro plus for streaming apps such as Tidal, Pandora, etc. I've tried streaming these apps using my TV and TV remote and the experience sucks.

My current setup is as follows.

TCL 50Q550G TV with HDMI eARC output

Klipsch The Sevens (on order, arriving in two weeks) - these have HDMI ARC input, Sub Out, remote control, etc, and are actively powered.

B&W ASW608 Sub which I plan to connect to the sub out on the Klipsch Sevens.

I have no external DAC or PREAMP

What would be the best way to connect these devices for the most seamless experience?

TCL TV HDMI eARC output to Klipsch HDMI ARC input for watching movies on Netflix, Prime, etc, that are integrated into the TCL TV ecosystem?
*using TCL remote?

AND

Wiim pro plus RCA outputs to Klipsch RCA inputs for streaming music services such as Tidal, Pandora, etc?
*Using Wiim remote?

ARe there any special settings I should be aware of? I saw in another thread concern about volume control when connecting Wiim pro plus to active speakers, but from the responses it seemed like this was a non issue.

For this scenario, does the Wiim Pro Plus seem to be the best product from their lineup for my needs?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide!

Hi,

I bought the WiiM Pro Plus and was so impressed by it and by WiiM, that 3 months later I bought the Ultra. If you value HDMI connection, the Ultra might be a better option for you.

For the money, I rate the Ultra as a 10/10 product. WiiM’s dedication to user feedback and system updates is absolutely fantastic. I can’t speak highly enough of them.

Wiim Ultra sounds better suiting for your setup, as it has HDMI ARC input, sub out (with full controls of the sub output). this way you could connect everything to the Ultra, set the Klipsch volume once, and only use the Ultra's remote / app to control everything

I'd wait till you have the speakers, and see if you want to use them as the preamp, with a pro feeding it, or you prefer to use everything in the ultra. If connecting a pro to speakers use a digital connection. The pro might make more sense than the plus, if you don't need the remote, or analogue input to Wiim. Personally I'd get the ultra to have DSP for all sources.

Thanks for all the replies!

So are y'all saying that I can watch TV (Netflix, etc) using the Wiim remote if the TV ARC output is plugged into the Wiim Ultra?

If using a Pro with no remote, would I control the streaming apps from the Wiim app on my phone? Is the phone app the most commonly used way to control the Wiim (versus the Wiim remote that comes with the Pro Plus or Ultra)?

The Klipsch Sevens have built in DSP, DAC, amplifier, etc. Does this change any recommendations?

I would assume the Klipsch DSP, DAC would have final input into how the audio is processed since it's last in the chain, is this correct? Or would the Wiim DAC override the Klipsch DSP, DAC, etc?

Sorry for my ignorance in these matters!

you're looking at this from the wrong view -
the Pro Plus or the Ultra are going to act as a preamp to your amplified speakers. I assume the Klipsch comes with a remote? by connecting all your devices (and the sub) to the same preamp, you won't be needing to use the Klipsch's remote (or even touch its controls all together). the idea, you would be able to set the Klipsch's volume one time, and control everything else from the Wiim device.
the Wiim's remote can only control the volume / source / change its presets / media controls. it can't control the streaming apps.
you already plan to a connect a sub to your audio system. the Pro Plus doesn't have sub output - the Ultra does
