Ou no. Thanks. I dont know if i can choose 5 ghz over 2.4 without wifi6. And does it give high bandwith by using only 5ghz. With wifi 6 and 5ghz i get 200mbs. Using 2.4 only 40mbs.
Keep in mind that there are pros & cons of 5 GHz vs 2.4 GHz. Especially with regard to the distance and any walls between the WiFi access point and the device. But also with regard to interference and frequency congestion. Both are more than fast enough for high definition audio. But don't assume 5 GHz is always the better choice than 2.4 GHz.

Also worth considering that 5Ghz does have more non overlapping channels than 2.4Ghz, which only has 1/6/11. Yes I know about DFS

Okey, I might be watching youtube from ipad while listening, if I remember right 2.4 with 40 mbs gave some hickups sometime…..no walls here so i guess 5 ghz is fine….temped about wiim pro, lets see…

Updated comment: it appears to be in Beta still for both Ultra and Amp:

Beta usb out firmware for the Ultra just landed today. A small note for anyone getting that firmware - usb out won’t appear as an available output until it detects it’s connected to an external DAC/amp.

I bought a Pro Plus thinking I would add it to my headphone stack, but then started thinking maybe I should just use it as my DAC straight into the headphone amp. I am running the Atom 2 DAC and AMP. Would there be any benefit to leaving the Atom 2 DAC in the chain?

Both are modern, well designed and transparent DACs.

Doesn't matter which one you use.

I'm having an issue with my wiim pro plus and my wiim mini: the signal is constantly being interrupted. Has anyone had this problem?
I use Airplay from my IPhone to use my Apple Music account.
First I thought it was the wifi connection, but after checking with other devices I saw it works just fine.

Wiim site says that Qobuz can stream 24/192 as long as you are going through the WiiM app. I see nowhere in the app a confirmation of bit rate. Is there something simple I'm missing?

Have you tried connecting the WiiM via Ethernet?

Yes, it is connected via Ethernet
In that case, probably best to open a support ticket in the WiiM Home App.

Doing that will collect logs which WiiM Support can use to diagnose the issue.

I skipped this one and went from Pro to WiiM Ultra. Loving it and the front screen :). Straight to my amp sounds great. Wish it was balanced, but it's ok.

I'm using mine for headphones. From what I understand the Ultra's headphone amp is just ok.

Yeah, kind of makes sense, at $330 it already offers a lot. Even good HP amps like the DX3+ lacks power with many headphones.

I have returned my first WiiM Pro Plus and ordered a replacement.
The WiFi gave up after about five days.

The first four days were fantastic. On day five playback stopped suddenly and I could not connect via the app.
I power cycled as directed by the app and everything was good again...for about 30 minutes. Then it stopped again.
I power cycled again and was reviewing the device settings. WiFi strength was showing as Excellent seconds prior to the loss of connectivity.
On the sixth day the WiiM could not connect to the wireless network. I found a long ethernet cable and everything worked perfectly except for the 25 foot cable snaking across the floor.

I opened a ticket, but did not hear back. I really appreciate the easy returns via Amazon. All the other things aside, Amazon has made it much less risky in the case of getting a dud unit.

I hope that my problems were a one time thing as I was really happy with the WiiM while it worked. I really don't want to have to run an ethernet cord across the house.

Soon to be available on Amazon marketplace with a discount!

If you had no recourse with the seller you could get one of those WiFi to Ethernet bridges and keep it with the WiiM, at least it has an Ethernet port.

I hope that the Wiim really isn't too good to be true!
