Hi, i am a novice so please be kind. Can anyone explain to me what the fixed resolution setting does?

If my external DAC can't support more than 48khz / 24bits would it matter wherever i select it or not?
Will it change bit perfect output if selected?

It resamples all audio to the selected sample rate and bit depth.

If you turn fixed resolution off, then 44.1kHz audio will play at 44.1, 48 at 48, and anything higher than 48 will be downsampled to 48.

If you turn it on, then all audio regardless of sample rate will be resampled to 48kHz.

Will it change bit perfect output if selected?
If fixed resolution is turned on, then only 48kHz audio will be played bit-perfect. All other sample rates will be resampled to 48kHz.

Bit surprised it does support 44.1 but not 88.2 and 176.4

Thanks appreciate the response. Makes it clear now.
