WiiM Amp Pro - TPA3255 PFFB | WiFi 6e | Bluetooth 5.3 vs WiiM Amp

The extra speed is not needed for two channel, the improved roaming won't help a stationary device, and Wifi 7 routers are fully backwards compatible. So I'm genuinely curious as to why?
I assumed it was sarcasm, implying that upgrade to 6E in the Amp Pro isn't that important to many/most users.

When did you receive your WiiM Amp Pro?
I have the WiiM not the pro! I don’t think it’s on sale yet?

I stand corrected, you are right it does support Airplay 2!
That’s unfortunate my WiiM Amp does and is currently on sale on Amazon at $254!

That's what I had assumed, so I just wanted to remind you that this thread is about the new WiiM Amp Pro, not the WiiM Amp. ;)

You can order in from WiiM on amazon.com right now. But it still shows as "temporarily out of stock". It's not been in stock, so far, as fare as I know.

Yes, the WiiM Amp supports AirPlay 2, but the WiiM Amp Pro, just as the WiiM Ultra, does not. I mentioned it before, but I know for sure from 1st hands experience that the Ultra is technically capable of supporting AirPlay 2, but support was removed prior to general availability. I'm pretty sure that the same is true for the WiiM Amp Pro, carrying over important parts of the Ultra. Whatever has happened between WiiM an Apple, that story did not come to a happy end, yet.

This is darned close to meeting the functionality my amp/streamer DIY project. One thing lacking (and I fully acknowledge typical mass-market consumer would not even know what to do with this) is using the DSP to perform (2-way) crossover, which would require an additional set of "speaker outs" and would mean speakers should be bi-amped (and remove the internal crossover). Seems like a VERY logical step to take and has the potential to offer superior sound quality, yes?
The Lyngdorf amps has this feature

Not in the way described by @activewire. I don't know of any current Lyngdorf amp featuring two sets of speaker outputs (and thus four independent power amplifiers). You always need an additional external power amplifier. Or powered subs, as most customers are using the built-in crossover capabilities for integrating subs.

The WiiM Amp Pro will be lacking even a stereo line output, so it's internal high pass and low pass filters are really just usable (and intended) for subwoofer integration.

True, but IMHO it makes little sense to include an extra stereo amp in the amp, going external lets you select the right amp for the bass, and it is only needed by some people. I wish the wiim amp had a set of stereo outputs for the subs, it’s making me consider going with the smallest Lyngdorf instead (also for the best in class room correction)

Absolutely agree.

Hopefully it will otherwise it will slow the sale of the new WiiMs

At 20 time the price
It's actually 5.8 times the price. :)

And that includes a quality measuring microphone, 8 meters of XLR cable and even a mic stand and, of course, a far more advanced, yet super easy to use room correction system. At least one of the best, if not the best around.

You also get a very capable, well specified phono MM input and more digital inputs. You get a display (admittedly, not the most advanced one, but still useful). Maximum current up to 30 A.

And maybe most importantly and as mentioned by others you get the most flexible system for managing and integrating and EQing subwoofers and main speakers. Traditional tone controls and individual "voicings" come on top. The web GUI can be used from any computer, tablet or even smartphone.

Finally, the Lyngdorf has AirPlay. :p

Both devices are a bargain in their respective price class.
