The price is certainly "competitive" considering the amount of functionality it offers. However, regarding the stereo quality, isn't it on par with the Marantz Cinema 70s AVR (as reviewed here), which received poor measurements?
I'm not really a expert in AVR lineups, but higher model from same series measures really well - https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/denon-avr-x4800h-avr-review.42812/
My wild guess is that analog performance in AVR-XxxxH series is pretty similar and main differences are in channel count and features (processing, DSP, HDMI in/outs, pre-outs etc.).
I don't expect miracles here, just want something half decent for Elac DBR62s used for TV and movies watching. I will be more than happy with like 70-80 dB of THD+N, decent IMD, SNR and around 100 W/ch - basically transparent at given circumstances. Audyssey room correction is a nice touch also.
For serious music listening I'm using my Neumanns KH310 at desktop setup.

Like I said, maybe when I would manage a bit of free time I would run some basic measurements of AVR-X1800H.

That's not a very good price, it was 320€ a couple of weeks ago: https://geizhals.de/denon-avr-x1800h-v139966.html

Still, it's a receiver, it's big, you might not need so many inputs and outputs, it probably uses jiggawatts of power in standby, and wife would probably not approve.

Have I told anyone about the time when I installed my own router next to my ISP router in the living room (that's where it had to be, we have IPTV)?

Well, as revenge, I got some plants to take care of in my home office.

Beware, you might get plants if you buy the Denon.
At 320 EUR it was a steal IMHO.

Actually I considered all points you mentioned!

Power consumption is really low compared to older AVRs. 29 W while fully turned on without sound, just under 0.5 W in standby mode with HDMI CEC enabled.
GF Acceptance factor is important too. I didn't wanted to force her to remember turning on TV, then separate amplifier without remote and so on.
HDMI ARC with CEC was a must have, so AVR will be turned on automatically with TV and volume can be changed with TV remote.
I heard sometimes there are some issues with HDMI ARC implementation in Wiim, supposedly improved but still.

It's quite bigger than Wiim AMP but look isn't that bad I think.
Definitely better than HDMI ARC to SPDIF grabber, some kind of DAC and Fosi ZA3 cobbled together with web of cables behind TV :D

That would be my choice too. At that price, it's an obvious decision.

This thread is about Wiim Amp Pro and not about other items. Please come back to the track.

Anyone received an estimate delivery date yet from amazon US? Wondering if the port issue going on right now is affecting delivery time.

I like the fact, that the WiiM Amp has a built in power supply.

What about setting up the EQ with Mac?

Is there also something like a auto standby function?

What does it mean 'built in' RC comparing to, say Wiim Pro? What is the difference?

Yeah, right, so RC operating the same as in Wiim Pro? By phone app and external mic.

Hi guys,

probably a stupid question, but I'm new to streaming. I understand I can stream Qobuz via the Wiim home app. This means in full Qobuz CD quality over WiFi, doesn't it? I use an IPhone and am a bit confused by the Airplay 2 discussion.

You can use qobuz over wifi with wiim app from apple store no need for airplay

Interesting is the digital out and sub out can work simultaneously with bass management since the sub has a separate DAC.
So, does that mean I could do hipass before the DAC? Sounds logical, but one never knows...

Not yet. I think they are working on that.

I've been looking for something to replace my WXA-50 and this may fit the bill. As I have an 8 ohm set of speakers, it's great that they've fixed the load dependency that was an issue with the earlier version and I'm also really curious about how well the room correction works. Has anybody moved on to the wiims after having a WXA-50? I'm still a bit divided about the way to go, I'm also considering some small desktop separates (perhaps a Wiim Ultra going into Fosi monoblocks) or even a surround receiver (Denon) or an integrated amp (Yammy or others).

An Ultra plus two Fosis looks like $650, and the Amp Pro is $370.

Depends on what connectivity you need.

I am running ultra into Fosi V3 mono driving 8 ohm floor standers. Very pleased so far.

I'm pretty happy with what the wxa offers - analog ins and a SPDIF in (usually what I use and prefer), 2.1 channel output and a bevvy of streaming options. I'm willing to sacrifice the streaming options honestly for a different setup (computer is used as source most of the time). I'd love to have integrated room correction and proper subwoofer management, but it's not imperative to me.

If you want a proper subwoofer management then you need the Marantz Model M1 with low and high crossover settings.
And it is also an upgrade from the WXA-50.
The WXA-50 sounds better then the WiiM AMP so make sure you do not downgrade or sidegrade.
