Wiim amp pro: spotify connect dissapears when enabling google cast, thoughts?

Hi all,

I've recently switched / simplified my audio.
I'm using a Wiim Amp Pro for my main listening (KEF R3 meta and 2 SVS 2000 pro). Furthermore, I now only use Plexamp (600 albums) and Spotify.

However, Spotify connect can do lossless streaming, Spotify through Google cast cannot. I need Google cast for Plexamp.

If I enable chromecast on the Wiim, the Spotify connect option dissapears from the menu.

Anyone else has this? Can it be solved?

Had the same issue, and can confirm disabling Google Cast resolves the issue. It never used to do this, so I assume it is to be fixed in a future update

I'll switch back to Tidal, because I really enjoyed the recommendations of Tidal.
Spotify's recommendations kinda suck (for me).
Just tested: Tidal Connect works fine.

Good to hear. It’s the same with Qobuz Connect - so it must just be a Spotify issue

This is strange, I can use Spotify Connect with Lossless with Google Cast enabled on my Wiim Pro...

I always prefer to have a remote. An app can be discontinued, making the device obsolete. That said, a remote will not support all functions... Great point! It's happening to me with all my older Oppo stuff.. very (!) frustrating..
