I was watching Mary Poppins and I thought the scenes in the chalk painting looked just as good as the scenes of Van Gogh at the end of Dreams, where Martin Scorsese plays the artist:

But were these new techniques in 1990 needed if you could do such a good job back then in 1964? It would seem not so much.
