Why Pay More For Purifi 9040 vs Hypex NCX2k?

It applies to load dependent amps too, like some of the new chip-amps without the correction circuit.
Do you mean a zobel network, or including the output filter coil in the feedback loop?

More like a typical TPA3255 without PFFB.
We have a thread with the math and responses.

So the second of my alternatives. Yes, I agree, if the output inductor/choke is not part of the feedback loop, you get a high output impedance.

Same way your ears can measure “sound quality” through a cam recording.
I would be in trouble if the goal was to pick which had better sound quality. this however.. was not the goal. it simply was listening for sonic differences. which there was quite clearly. to me atleast

If the levels were different in the video between the amps you were comparing (as suggested upthread) then this is not a surprise. But you weren't hearing sonic differences between amps - you were hearing the effect of different levels.

In any case it is impossible to compare the minute sound differences between amps when they are played though speakers exhibiting orders of magnitude higher distortion - in a room whose effects vastly swamp what is going on in the amps - and recorded via microphones - also with much higher distortion. Any distortion in the amps will be masked by those of the speakers and mic.

Apparantly the test was dB matched on the speakers between amps

seemingly a single session edited for practical viewing
That doesn't guarantee matched levels. Mic could have shifted a small amount, for example.

I'm referring to this post

I'm assuming @oleg87 measured the levels actually in the you tube recording. Can you confirm @oleg87

And in any case they state that the levels were matched with a dB meter - which is not accurate enough.

Are there any headphone amps with Hypex or eigentakt modules?

Do you have extremely inefficient headphones? :)
No just wondering because my hypex amplifier has no headphone output. (NAD M10 V3)

Ah, OK. The Hypex and Eigentakt amps are power amps. Way too powerful for normal headphones.

Are there any headphones for which they are not way too powerful?

I left the possibility open for some really exotic electrostatic thing...
