Why is this seemingly feature packed product almost completely absent from the Internet (i.e. reviews)??

The OSD Nero SRT1 Gen2. It's on Crutchflied for $180.

Despite having a silly/strange product name, It looks like it has almost every feature one could want from a streamer, including a very competitive price. No, it doesn't look as though it does room correction, but at least it has AirPlay unlike some of the Wiim stuff that gets discussed ad nauseam, and everyone seems to love.

Bottom line is, I almost bought one tonight because I need a streamer, and it looked pretty great. But when I went to look up reviews, I couldn't find a single one, not even on its own product page on Crutchfield! So, of course I orcdered a Wiim product instead. But it really weirded me out.

Does anyone have any clue what is going on with this? What am I missing?

I think you've already figured out the issue: nobody knows much of anything about it. The Wiims that you hear about ad nauseam are a known quantity. We know they perform well. We have no idea if the OSD does. And we won't unless the manufacturer or a member of the community sends one in for testing. Crutchfield does have a 60-day return policy, so if someone were so inclined they could arrange with Amir to see when he could fit it into his schedule and time their purchase so that they are able to return it if it ends up performing poorly.

Sure, that makes sense, but there's not even reviews on its own product pages! There is no Amazon product page, and there are 0 reviews on the Crutchfield page I linked to. Pretty weird. The entire Internet just decided to completely ignore this product.

I don’t know anything about this product, but the WiiM streamers definitely have airplay 2. I use it with one almost every day. (Plus Spotify, and Toslink, and enough other features that it’s basically operating as the preamp for one of my systems.)

Crucial for such streamers is app support for as many services as possible. Here it seems (?) they use their own apps, so if the company goes down, over time you will lose the functionality.
