Not really, I am well aware of HATS and model differences, mic limitations and so on. I am also aware of multiple ear models being developed. Actually bean talking about it for years. So I didn't though I should do that part of intro.That is not the main issue though why it usually doesn't work well for headphones as solderdude well replied above, maybe you should actually watch the video or read at least the summary of the first one in the first post of this thread.
It's a main issue! Find what really sounds good in highs to you and try by design to solve other more than less major thing's with it while being good and you are almost there. You can shape response in highs and eventually try to hit a single peek and that's about it, you can do same and with DIY pasive or active filters. It doesn't, really dosent matter if you do FIR or prefer more simple solutions. I prefer it all and again mixed back in single convolution.
I found my self a headphones I am satisfied with and main thing is you can put them lazy on and off and don't have to put lot effort to achieve very good seal and are not impedance dependant while everything will run them sufficient (not clean but with more then enough SPL).
