Every single penny lost by her punters.
In some cases. But gambling addiction is just as much an illness as drug or alcohol addiction. And whatever the case the families driven into penury are victims.More fool them I say.
The craziest plane in the world!!I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue...
Does that count too?
Or porn addiction, seems to be a growing problem in a few ways....In some cases. But gambling addiction is just as much an illness as drug or alcohol addiction. And whatever the case the families driven into penury are victims.
Addiction is addiction, it's as simple as that. Anything that caused a problem in anyone's life that they keep repeating and can't stop is an addiction.Or porn addiction, seems to be a growing problem in a few ways...

I don't know about that report. OTOH, who knows what might qualify as porn to North Koreans. It might not be what we'd call porn.Looks like it may be for the North Korean troops who are getting less fettered Internet access for the first time:
North Korean soldiers' hooked on porn instead of fighting in Ukraine? Surprising impact of unfettered internet access
North Korean military men watching porn: North Korean soldiers who are in Ukraine on behalf of Russia have been gorging on porn after getting unrestricted internet access for the first time. According to a report, North Korean military men have been hooked on porn who have deployed to help...www.google.com
It would be whatever Russia calls porn that they are getting???I don't know about that report. OTOH, who knows what might qualify as porn to North Koreans. It might not be what we'd call porn.
Some people must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle; they just can't stop talking, even when there is non one paying any attention to them.Addiction is addiction, it's as simple as that. Video games, gamming, and cell phones are just as bad a opioid addiction in this country. NA teaches about addiction NOT the actual drug of choice.
AA kind of leaves that out. Its funny most meetings coffee, cigarettes and cell phones are worse than smokin' crack in my opinion. They will walk right out
in front of a car just jabbering away as if they are in complete control of being on planet Uranus.
Drugs and drinking (same thing) have never been the problem, addiction is.
I had a boss that was a full blown trava-holics. He wouldn't pay parts bills so he could travel. He owed over 2 million when I quit working for him. He
would never smoke or drink but he sure would spend other peoples money so he could travel. He was one sick puppy.
Some people can't shut up. That's pretty high on my walk away list too. They remind me of a yappin' dog. STFU. LOL
Regards

That's how interpret the tolerance in NA Meetings of coffee and maybe cigarettes (where legal, I assume); there are degrees and practical considerations. Sure, someone can suffer a lot, from let's say, Pr0n addiction. But opioids? Yeah there are degrees, specially from the point of view of urgency and immediate consequences. There's a lot of emergency room personnel who would strongly disagree.
My mom had an alcohol and opioids addiction but quit around 70 yrs of age. The residual physical damage was persistent and significant until she died, rendering her bedridden (nerve retreat in her feet made it impossible to bear weight without breaking them). She lived a long time for that addiction, but boy did it ruin her dotage.
Cell Phone addiction certainly cause car accidents, people walking into open manhole's even when they are marked off by posts & tape and other crazily stupid things that can cause serious injuries or death. And sometimes do. You might be amazed if you look into it.There's a lot of emergency room personnel who would strongly disagree.
