Why Audio Science Review's measurements are so different compared to other sources?

The legend in the DAC Measurement comparison chart has them labeled as percentiles - “SINAD Percentile Score”

A quartile is a subset of a percentile, I believe most folks understand this. We are talking past each other, so I’ll PM you and Amir so we don’t muddy up the thread.

A lot of the criticism ASR gets is unfair , plenty of misconceptions about amirm's motives too but I can understand why people react like that and tbh we deserve some of the flack we get .

We are not perfect, we don't always get it right but ASR represents a genuine attempt to shine a light in a industry that till now has largely got a free pass . Genuine and without commercial conflict.

Not too many can say that, so maybe folks can forgive our ills and be thankful we are here helping bring some accountability to the Industry and celebrating well engineered audio products . .. all for free and thanks to a great deal of time , effort and money from many of you.

We should just focus on us , making sure we are being as self critical and aware as possible while striving forward with confidence.

It is fantastic that we have a resource like this site...precisely because with other sources you can't know how much leverage
the maker has. And those who shill. I for one have had enough flowery prose and high praise for mediocre and overpriced
gear. Not to mention the hilarity of power cords and magic unicorn speaker cables.

A place to go see how gear measures? Priceless. I sure do love my RME ADI-2 DAC FS that I learned of on this site.
Holy cow what an epic piece of gear!

ASR=Best audio site ever for informed equipment decisions. No added hype, just the facts.

And panthers.

They make a big difference. Ever tried to setup a system without them?

ASR is a great tool to find out about the engineering quality of HiFi gear. It isn't all you need to consider but definitely a large piece of the puzzle that was previously only provided by non-standard biased testing by the manufacturer.
