Something tells me @RickS' fingers are already itching to close this thread because it's going off topic...![]()
Oh c'mon. Semantics? Excuse me, but I play the card "I am not a native English speaker". My wife shouting at me in Slovak, ex-wife in Croatian, while my boss is beating me up in English. If it's not going anywhere then it's not a journey, it's just exercise.
I can always yell orders at you in German if that brightens your day. I know all the jargon.Oh c'mon. Semantics? Excuse me, but I play the card "I am not a native English speaker". My wife shouting at me in Slovak, ex-wife in Croatian, while my boss is beating me up in English.
BTW - we should stop or we might be called to justice by the relevant authorities as just shooting crap which is probably not a valid "exercise".
In that case: «Raus!»I can always yell orders at you in German if that brightens your day. I know all the jargon.![]()
Right - forgot to mention my oldest daughter that is learning German. She also raises her teenage voice while practicing German to something like she needs more support from me and more understanding for her teenage crap. Younger one is learning Japanese. Oldest son Arabic. So yeah, I am really challenged and this linguistic disarray is a bit much.In that case: «Raus!»

All I want is humble house on a remote island where someone (really nice) would speak to me only the language of love. And of course 100mbs internet connection.

Thanks for the explanation, Rick.Like most folks, if you are considerate enough to consult me privately, you are likely to get a better response than if am called out publicly.
Have a like for using "entropy".Thanks for your hard work @RickS, I am sure it's even harder than it looks, keeping this place usable.
From what I've observed, threads get closed when the thread tilts firmly toward insults, unproductive bickering, or off-topic rambling. Due to something like entropy I think most long-lived active threads end up there. I haven't seen many (any?) good or insightful discussions cut short.
Staying on topic is not strong with humansI thought you guys are reopening the closed thread in this one. It was a fun thread, as noted. The fact that it did not lead anywhere is what made it even more fun. It is the journey that matters, not the destination
.
I could use the practice. Exercise!I can always yell orders at you in German if that brightens your day. I know all the jargon.![]()
