I voted for the original, have watched a little TNG but not most of the others.

I liked the premise of Lower Decks but got bored after a few episodes.

I've only ever seen the original series from the 60s. To be honest I wasn't actually aware there were newer, umm sequals, updates ...?
I've also only seen TOS although I was aware of a couple of the sequels. I saw some episodes or Orville, which looked like a Star Trek knock off but isn't in the list. Dreadfully boring.

I like U.F.O.

Maybe a bit of a hot take, but I never liked Worf or Klingons in general...I mean, have you ever seen a Klingon scientist??
Not that I can recall.

I liked Worf because he was the only one who thought like a soldier rather than an office worker who's worried about getting in trouble with HR.

He always advised putting the shields up and opening fire as soon as the aliens started acting a bit dodgy.

I suppose the intention was to lampoon that sort of thinking but for me it worked the opposite way.

And of course the aliens were always up to something and it would end up with crew members and sometimes the whole ship in deadly peril.

If they'd just blasted them straight away like Worf advises, they'd have avoided all that aggravation.

Be a short episode though. :)

That's why I liked Scotty in TOS. Anytime he was left in charge he took zero crap from the aliens.

Yeah, but then we wouldn't have a show at all - never mind a short episode. The core concept of TNG revolved around solving problems through diplomacy. By that logic, Worf just came across as a bit of a hothead. I think he worked much better in DS9.

They're constantly on TV here, as is TNG. When one channel stops showing them, another starts.
All ST series-episodes and movies are streaming on Paramount + with no commercials. ;)

A bit more than a guilty pleasure i presume . Seven of Nine can asimilate me any time (please)
OH Hell yea. It was when Jeri Ryan entered the Picard series that things got really GOOD ;)

then there is Jolene Blalock OMG. No matter how weak a episode might be, every minute she was on the screen was eye candy heaven. :p LOL
I think I read that she was brought in as a sex symbol to help the sagging viewership. Despite that, the show was still cancelled.

Maybe partner, but it worked for me. :p

The only ones I liked were the original and Enterprise. I could not stand TNG because of that irritating Wesley character. Haven't bothered watching any of them since that.

I have to agree with you there Brian, I was very glad when he left the series.

I’d prefer to be first of 9. And please forgive me already… Regardless of which ST you like best, they have always understood their core audience of primarily nerdy men and putting beautiful woman on screen. It reminds me of audio ads of the past that always had a beautiful woman or a man smoking a pipe while his girlfriend/wife admires his choice in Bill Evan’s vs. Dave Brubeck records. So I suppose Trek was hardly “woke” (another thread) in that regard. For me it’s always been Next Generation. That was the series that allowed Star Trek writers to explore more human issues directly. And not be stuck on what is our next mission on the next planet. It lasted long enough for a number of characters to fully develop and Patrick Stewart was a solid actor who could sell a story about a flute and living a lifetime in 10 minutes on another planet.

The few Lower Deck episodes I've seen were entertaining. If you have the ability, worth checking out.

Excuse me sir but I do take offense at being called a Nerdy Man.
That's the way God and nature intended all MEN to be, unless he decided to make you Gay.

I have, but I don't get it? Why would you want to turn Star Trek in an animated cartoon?
If that's what I wanted I'd rather watch

Totally agree! The inner light, Chain of command, The Drumhead, The Defector, The measure of a man, All good things...even freaking Captain's holiday... every single one is better than the entire run of Star Trek Picard.

My best Jeff Foxworthy…

If you are commenting on Star Trek threads on the internet, you might be a nerd.
If you even know what SINAD is, you might be a nerd.
If you make your girl listen to her favorite song on your perfect hifi so she can finally hear it right, you might be, well you know :)

Love your posts Sal. Thanks for letting me nerd out.

The Ferengi on DS9 was pure feces and shattered any and all attempts at drama. Like casting a s slew of Pee Wee Hermans. Voyager had some good scrips but all in all I found Captain Janeway to be portrayed and acted such that she was double the man, double the male, double the hero that Captain Kirk was. That was the era when women believed that being male was the thing to do. I much like watching Roxanne Dawson on Voyager. I think she is my favorite female character in all the series. I never could imagine Janeway as anything but a lesbian. Captain Kirk was soooooo 1960's primitive television. Much like Mannix which was produced by the same studio. Rather than discussing which series was the best, I'd like to hear which were the very best episodes from among all the series.

One of the best Picard CGI effects staring Jeri. Play that (originaly) on your dolby Surround

Visualising Borg Cube exiting A transwarp conduit.
