You don't need to worry about that in this context. I am commenting on it advertising high-resolution support but is something that I can't easily test on Windows. Oddly on MacOs it supports 24 bit.

The reason I ask is that from some posts I've read here, it's sounds like a dac has a max Snr, but is capped by the source file fed to it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Full-scale 16 or 24 bit recordings come out of the DAC at the same maximum electrical level.

Cynical Opinion:
The practical difference in dynamic range occurs by dividing the smallest bit of 16bit into 256 more levels of inaudibility.

I think you just quantified 'the veil' - which I'm afraid of lifting inadvertently... hence it's strictly 16/44 for me. Of course, I like a lot of ugly music so that could be a factor.

I would like to see one day the measurement of the DAC of some famous old CD Player, let's say Phillips CD 723 or Marantz CD 6003, just to know how capable those machines, so popular, were. It would also be nice to have a measurement of their coaxial out.
