Hi!

I build an 5.1 home theater system, which include Elac 247.4 fronts, Elac 241.4 Center speaker, Elac 243.4 Surround speakers.

The subwoofer is an SVS SB2000, with SVS Soundpath RCA SUB cable.

This is an 18 m2 room

The system would 50% music, 25% movie, 25% Playstation 4 pro playing.

The beamer is an W1070, but in the future I will update to 4K projector.

The music and the movies played from notebook.

Any idea about AVR? What is the minimum which working well with this speakers?

Thank you.

Denon!
Thank you for your reply.

As I see, the following AVR is recommend for me?
X3500H
X3600H
X3700H
X4700H

?

I dont think, that I will upgrade to 7.1 or 7.2 or higher. Or 2 subs.

Maybe the X3500H also good enough to me?

I checked again the review X3600 and 3700 much better than 3500.

So above X3600H should I buy?

I just got the Denon 3700 and will be using external amps. I think you can’t go wrong with any of the Denon tested here and you can start with just the AVR and upgrade to better amplification if needed down the road.

Audyssey works well and I would spend the $20 for the app to be able to find tune the target response.

If you need 8K support, get x3700. Otherwise, save your money and get x3500 or x3600. You can’t go wrong with either.
No, I dont need 8K support. At the moment I have an 1080p projector.. maybe in the not so far future, I will upgrade to 4K.

My other idea is to buy a second hand AVR which are 2-3-4 years old.

This old AVR's has better sound quality for same price as newer one?

I find a Cambridge Audio Azur 751R v2 for 640$

Arcam AVR750 for 1600$

A second hand Denon X4500H for 1200$

Or older Denon's?

Or newer Denon with MultiEQ XT32 could better sound, detailing in stereo music or movie mode?

The Azur 751R V2 will be awesome. I saw this

200 watts rms per channel, 6 ohms (two channels driven)
170 watts rms per channel, 8 ohms (two channels driven)
120 watts rms per channel, 8 ohms (all 7 channels driven)

120W all channels driven is really nice!!

Denon X4500H, can only manage 130W with 2 channels.

130 W x 2-channel (8 Ω/ohms)

Yes, toroidal transformator is awesome.

But the DAC I dont know which one is better.. denon or cambridge. :)
The wattage is better on Cambridge with 2 channels, and 5 channels too

IMHO, it doesnt really matter. ITs not going to make a big difference at this price point. Furthermore, cambridge is 1/2 the price of the denon......
