After reading Jim Smith’s great book, Get Better Sound, I read in his book that we should place our gear on the side instead of in between speakers, even when the speakers are placed well forward with the gear in the middle and well behind the speakers.

But I wonder if this applies to my room with a marble furnace.

I am lucky to have my lady who agrees for me to have a room all to myself for music so I can do whatever I like.

My room measures
5m (16,5feet) x 6m (20feet)
and 3m (10feet) high

Here is a picture of the marble furnace, what is your opinion on this, not using this furnace for my gear ?

Gear should be positioned so that it:

-does not interfere acoustically
-has sufficient ventilation
-does not result in excessively long signal wires
-is not exposed to strong EMI

Beyond that, positioning truly does not matter. You can even mount the WiiM and 3e Amp to the ceiling if if that helps.

I would politely suggest there is no good reason to do this, for sound quality reasons anyway.

Will you have a TV in your room and if so will you want to use the speakers for TV audio as well as music? If so, where you're going to place your TV could be a significant factor...

Don't place a turntable too close to speakers or big transformers (e.g. in power amps with linear power suplies) and keep the cable to the phono preamp short. Otherwise there are no restrictions to place electronics anywhere in the room.

Thank you. TV, no. Only music. Perhaps Jim Smith was talking about esthetics and lights. I only plan on QUBUZ for now.
