I want to buy some lossless music files (FLAC etc.) where the files are hosted on the seller's servers, and I can download them anytime I want.

Any recommendations?

As far as I know most music is not licensed for lossless downloads. In most cases your best bet is to buy the CD.

You can record streaming audio (lossy or lossless) with Audacity but I don't know if it's "bit perfect". (It's a copyright violation. and of course the artist/copyright holder isn't getting paid when you play your stolen copy.)

Qobuz?

I don't know about sellers' servers, but Bandcamp is a great platform that only takes a 12-15% fee, and the rest goes to the artist if they are independent.

Bandcamp, the artists keep more money too!

I mostly just buy the cd and rip it personally. I'll otherwise explore on a Spotify premium subscription. I try and buy from the artist directly....surprisingly some only offer lossy downloads, tho....with bandwidth and storage as cheap as it is don't understand that approach.

Prestomusic.com has a huge catalog of classical and jazz files, in .flac or .mp3 as you choose. Licensed and legal.
