In EU?
hhv.de have (or used to have, it has been a while) decent prices, huge catalog and good fast service.
Amazon.com
....
But depending on the music you like, you might want to find an specialized shop.

New vinyl?
Generally follow the individual artist and see where they are offering pre-release orders - artist's own site for preference or a local shop. Bandcamp next - decent approach to royalty payments.
There's a consortium of independent shops that release beautiful pressings - Dinked - always worth a look for quality packages. Modern indie; post punk to folk plus all sorts.
Jazz, Folk, Classical (in all its forms) ... I like to be helped by a specialist shop here.

Mastering and pressing quality is a bit of a lottery with new music (less so for the 'trad' genres). I buy to support the artist, and because I want to. The Dinked releases have been good though.

Discogs, check feedback of seller that way very rarely get something that is miss graded. Most actual record shops have presence there or Amazon. Also use it to catalogue collection as best database of variants. Follow record shops for updates on new realeases and updates on stock. Follow bands I like as usually announce new stuff and special editions. Like physical record shops also though to find hidden gems and do a bit of charity/thrift store diving. Forgot to add bandcamp as buy alot from there also, has good alert system for people you like plus exclusives.

Amazon, and I have no complaints.

OK - is that stuff you recall from history?
The radio?
Etc?

How does one find new stuff? I do not recall Amazon having an easy way to find things other than of we already know what it is called.

Apart from obviously listening to radio/streaming apps and using suggestions from later and seeing if have vinyl out. I sign up to newsletters from some shops I like that give some suggestions, in UK use Norman records for one such example. Bandcamp can search by genre and include those that do physical releases, can also listen to see if like. Also music blogs/magazines catered towards vinyl maybe.

Discogs is a fantastic resource for new vinyl (and CDs) as well as used.
It doesn't work for pre-release orders, which is often where you need to go for smaller groups

I don't buy vinyl, but a colleague of mine does, and he rates this website very highly:

Well, I don't buy much vinyl, maybe two records per year. I just go by what I like, the band or the composer. That, and reading the Tarot cards :)

When I was in Barcelona, they had 180gm vinyl jazz records including colored LP's for 12 Euros. Seemed like a good deal. It was the inside the mall at the northern end of La Rambla near Pl. Catalunya.

That's Carrer del's Tallers, it was full of record shops back in the days. Now most mutated into clothes shops, but Revolver still survives (I hope!).
Be careful though, those "cheap" colored records are mostly bootlegs (or semi bootlegs taking profit of the 50 years copyright limit) of very low quality.

Most of the new vinyl I buy are reissues of 70's heavy psych and Japanese funk that are bonkers expensive. Rockadrome, Light In The Attic, and Bandcamp (specifically shopping from Guerssen) have all been rock solid for me. Newbury Comics is pretty good. I've even bought a few from Amazon.

And obviously Discogs has tons of shops selling new vinyl.

Store was named fnac. I was just there at the end of August this year. They were brand new, and 180gm factory new and sealed.
