Where can I purchase custom length power cables that are not snake oil?

Hi All,

I want some custom length power cables for my Dutch & Dutch 8cs (IEC C13)

Can you recommend a good supplier that makes a non snake oil but high quality product, perhaps similar to blue jeans cables?

Do you actually need a custom length made or just something longer than what came with the speakers? How long do you need? Do you want something other than just basic black? What are your actual requirements?

I need shorter lengths than stock one about 3 feet the other about 5 feet, white or black, meet all standard construction and safety specs, no snake oil bs.

Monoprice lists them from 1-foot to 25-feet (although they're not showing all lengths in stock).

I make my own with SOOW cable of the appropriate length and gauge, usually 16/3 or 12/3.

Then one NEMA 5-15 plug and one IEC-320 receptacle per cable.
I use Hubbell branded plugs and Marinco IEC's.

I bought a nice heavy 14agw 15a power cord there to replace the wimpy ones that came with my arrester power strips feeding my audio/video components.
Nice cord for the money

If you want something beyond Monoprice you should investigate Middle Atlantic "Signal Safe" power cords.
I do not believe they are in active production anymore but I got many NOS off eBay.
Middle Atlantic is a legitimate manufacturer and supplier of rack mount equipment and accessories.
They came out with the "Signal Safe" power cord line some years ago and they were available in 1 foot increments.
The construction is excellent with high quality plugs at both ends.
Now...as far as the benefits of their "Signal Safe" construction. I paid not one whit to any alleged benefit or improvement to the sound of my system.
I simply wanted very good quality power cords in a variety of lengths from a reputable source.
I believe they were all 14ga.
You may have to do some investigation in your searches but some are showing up on eBay now.

Simple: cut off the cable at the right length at the plug end, and buy a new plug at the hardware store. When in doubt of destroying the original, get a fresh over-length cable at the thrift store for peanuts.
