For me? It would be a 3 way speaker with a 4-5 inch midrange and a 1 inch tweeter (concentric/coaxial design) with a 6-8 inch high excursion woofer, in a bookshelf style, with the mid/tweeter separated into two separate chambers.. with a quality crossover, and hermetic seals all over the place.
So you basically want TAD Compact Evolution One.

Even for bass frequencies, their distortion is lower than virtually all other 6.5" drivers.
Purifi now makes 8" inch woofer, super low distortion.
On axis response within +/-3dB

Controlled but wide horizontal directivity (60deg)

Controlled but narrow vertical directivity (20-30deg)

Sensitivity of at least 90 db/W
That sounds like Perlisten.

Well actually the ELAC Unifi is the same design as what I had in mind (mid/tweeter+woofer) - the unifi active speaker are even better, since they have a tri amp design.

Our current "ultimate" DIY-design so far has been the "Bendit" curved line array w/ 8 x 10" SB shallows per unit, 20 x Fountec and RAAL.
This is driven by 6 amps w/DSP. The Norwegian web-magazine made a review on them.
We have made many DIY-designs from small two-ways to common line sources, CBT, magnestatic, but none are comparable to the immense clear 3-d dynamics that Bendit can deliver.
The next design is "Moelva". This is a kind of Buchardt/D&D inspired curved line array with 12x 5" Satori Textreme, Satori BE tweeter in waveguide, 8 X 7.5" Wavecor subs at the rear baffle plus a Hypex 503 on the base plate. During this process we got some valuable advices from diy and pro collegues. The cabinet maker is also the owner. He is also making custom furniture, kitchen designs etc.
