Couldn't find any information on these anywhere, so I bought one and took it apart.

The sound on the headphone port is pretty good, a lot better than the Audio Codec on my motherboard (Realtek ALC1220/NE5532)
Not sure if it's a keeper, just fancied trying one and needed something to supply 48v to my Mic, can't test the input as I need to get a new XLR cable.

This isn't a review or anything, just wanted to get some pictures up of its guts and also to let everyone know what the DAC is.
Would have been nice to have the CS4272 in there, but all things considered that CS4270 does not sound bad at all!

Was expecting a lot worse for £55, it feels nice quality and really well built.

DAC: Cirrus Logic CS4270 - CZZ
USB Processor: XMOS 8U6C5

Cool. One note for the future: when you drag/attach images, click "insert full size" or something to that effect and the image will be put in your post so people can see them without having to click on them.

Also, it would be good to see the brand of capacitors as that usually is an indication of build quality. So a zoomed picture on the vertical "cans" would be useful. :)

I can tell you they are pretty so-so, Suscon's throughout.

I did wonder how you did that, I went for the picture button first but that wanted a URL, I'll remember next time.
I didn't get that many as my battery went flat on my phone, i'll see if any others saved.

That's a bummer with the caps but at this price, it is more difficult to complain.

And to be clear, you can just drag a picture from a folder into your post and it will make it an attachment. And then just click insert and it will put in the message.

It's gone back, one of the input pots were noisy.
No way of selecting what type of impedance input it took either, it didn't like my guitar and a fair bit of hiss when using inputs.

Ive always been curious about the dacs used in a lot of interface products ~ would love to see more product teardowns in the future to see what kinda chips some of these products provide.
