What were your first albums and what do you think of them today?

1969 discovered the Record Club of America, AFAIR, 10 albums for $1.00(?!)

For me it was 1973, I discovered Columbia House 12 albums for a penny. I got collection company letters for a year or 2 after that. Perhaps influenced by a book given to me by my neighbor, Abbie Hoffman's, "Steal This Book," I never gave Columbia House even a second penny.

If I never hear the S&G one in the middle again, I'll remain happy. The other 6 are great.

My first real albums were the Monkeys. We use to watch the TV Show and we would set up chairs in our living room, invite the neighborhood girls over and pretend to be a band that could actually play just like the Monkeys, who unknown to us were also pretending they could play. It was fun to be a 11 year old kid in those days. We even had our PF Flyer tennis shoes that allowed us to run faster and jump higher. Good times.

Sparks - BIG BEAT was the very first album I bought - shortly after it was released i Denmark in late 1976. I was just 11 years old and it was great music to my ears and I still like it very much. A great album - I haven´t got very many Sparks albums and I am quite indifferent to the other albums. But this is great
