Interested by a test of the Denton 1S coaxial too. (too bad there is no active version released - maybe later ?)

And even more interested by a test of the Cambridge Audio L/R Series, especially the top of the range L/R X :

They're very nice, technically they look like sorts of Ascilab all active, integrated and connected, in a small scale format and with proprietary drivers.
All this from from a well established european brand, with a relatively modest price tag considering technology and style involved.

Seconding the above speaker, but I'd also love to see reviews of some smaller but well regarded floorstanders. There haven't been as many of those reviewed, particularly recently. I'm especially interested in the Kef Q7 (and Q11, but that's been reviewed by Erin already) as well as anything else that might be an under the radar choice in that $2k-2.5k price range.

In addition, a proper review of the Ascend ELX would be very nice to see, since that's their flagship speaker at the moment, and I'd love to see the AMT version of the Philharmonic BMR monitor measured (as well as their new Cantabile).

I just bought a Mangar Zerobox 109 (emphasis on the 1) last night. When I read it was using transverse waves to push out compression waves, this illness forced me to purchase the speaker even though it's obviously seen better days. I do have a calibrated mic or two. But I have no idea what I'm doing so obviously I'd love to drop it off to Amir as well. But if there was something I can test you want to know, I'll try it. In exchange can you find me another one?

I snagged a set of Denton 1S and can ship them for a review, I'm just not sure I'll want them back yet LOL. They have some great qualities, but for some reason they present an intolerably bright sound for my ears in my space without EQ. To be fair, pretty much all speakers do sound bright to me, but I perceive these as particularly harsh without doing a lot of work to fine-tune them. For the most part, that work is worth the effort.

I'm getting an error when I reply directly, but I switched from LS50 Metas to these. It seems that the Dentons, as one might expect because of the larger size, seem to surround me with sound more, there is a tight image, especially for vocals and lead guitar type sounds, but the LS50s have an edge in laser precision accuracy, but these seem more forgiving and less fussy around placement, and I prefer them because I wanted to feel more enveloped by the sound. Don't ge me wrong, they totally disappear into the sound, I had to lean into one of them today to make sure it was on. I really don't have much experience listening to quality speakers, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, or three. I'm only describing my experience of them in my space, measurement-wise I see a pretty steep roll-off with a peak around 2kHz that I have to pull down A LOT, but again those are measurements in my space which has some physical acoustic treatment but is far from anechoic, nechoic, echoic, choic, oic, ic...

Thank you for your above review, could you maybe upload here some comparative listening position measurements of both, maybe we can even see the reason of your perceived brightness.

German magazine Hi-Fi Test reviewed the Wharfedale Denton 1S and got some basic measurements (only horizontal).
I can't find any info if these measurements are taken with or without the grille and which position (Norm or Max) of the brilliance switch on the back.

If these are too small I can embiggen them and repost. This room is about 10'x11', I took measurements from a little over 3' away, then 5', then 7', with no EQ at all, and without subwoofers first and then again with 3 mismatched not-particulary-good subwoofers and a crossover at 70Hz processed by BluOS. The room is more or less like this:

I'm going to get raked over the coals now, aren't I? I'm sure I did a number of things in a non-ideal way, and look forward to having that pointed out repeatedly
EDIT: the subwoofer levels to get the bass that high are a couplde of steps above normal, it's way too bassy, but it makes the measurement look nice?

Thank you for these, I guess you were measuring both L and R at the same time as there appear some dips in the treble region in some of the measurements?
