What speakers do you currently own?

I currently own a Sony SRS-XB10, which I bought second-hand years ago for £25. Here it is, pictured next to a roll of toilet paper, which I am about to put to use once I finish typing this.
I don't own any other speakers. I sold them all because I realised I could spend hours sitting around listening to music instead of working on my business; endless entertainment was getting in the way of building something of my own.
Selling my audio removed that temptation, and now I can focus on growing my business rather than disappearing into listening sessions (or reading and participating in audio forums) for half the day.
Entertainment was my biggest enemy when it came to actually getting work done.

I don''t read as much as I used to, my eyes get tired after a short time.
Never read novels much, teachers made me grow very distasteful of that with their demands for reports, tests, etc when in school.
I think the last one I read was The Godfather in 1969 while on duty in Vietnam.
OTOH I used to have something constantly in my hands in the way of technical material, magazines, etc; anything involving my hobbies and other interests.
Music has been my constant companion for as long as I remember. Even as a little kid it was either the radio or a RCA 45rpm player, I have owned a few of them.

Everybody has their own interest and bliss, but I admit I find a post like this pretty curious in an audiophile forum.

Do you mind my asking why you visit or post here if you’re not really doing the audiophile thing?

I used to be pretty deep into the audiophile hobby. Earlier today, I was sitting on the toilet, browsing a few of the forums I used to visit regularly, and came across the "What speakers do you currently own?" thread and thought I'd answer it.

I still enjoy music and listen with headphones, but I've largely stepped away from the audiophile side of things. Selling off my speaker system was a bit of a revelation for me, as I could spend hours sitting on the sofa listening to music, reading audio forums and other audio-related stuff, when that time could have been spent on my business, reading, going to the gym, or biking.

I still enjoy music. But, I'm not spending entire evenings glued to the sofa staring into the space between the speakers anymore, and I've found I have a lot more time and focus for other things that matter to me.

Have you ever contemplated the hypothetical about which you'd rather lose: Hearing or sight?
It's a push for me: I'd rather move on to the other side listening to music rather than staring at the ........ MonaLisa on the ceiling, in the tango-uniform position.

If I had to take a choice I guess it would be hearing, being blind is too horrid to even consider.

My favorite: Perlisten S7t, they were paired with dual SVS SB-3000, but I just sold the subs not too long ago.

I am moving to a new home, I will ultimately set up the Ascend ELX RAAL with a sub. And replace the SB-3000 with something better, hopefully.

Kool, the Perlisten S7t are way outside of my wheelbarrow but if I was looking for new speakers and could afford them, they would be at the top of my "possibles" list .
The review and measurement done at Audioholics shows them to be very close to my personal list of desirable features.

I had a forced retreat from the hobby for the past couple years due to a massive flare of tinnitus. I didn’t listen to my system for almost 2 years. So I had to focus on other things. But when I finally felt ready to start listening to my system again (even though starting quietly) it was just so incredibly nourishing to be in the listening spot being taken away by music and how it can be elevated by the sensuousness of great sound. It felt like I had been starving and somebody had just offered me a Michelin starred meal. It was a very big upgrade in “quality of life” that reminded me how much I get out of the experience.

If you are really interested, give it few more years, you will be able to find yourself a great deal on the used market.

At the moment, and for the last 28 years, I've owned these.

I posted some of these pictures in my "intro section" thread. I really like these speakers. They do almost everything I could ask of them. The bass is incredible and they image very well. I think the soundstage is a little more narrow and centered but I've liked listening to them. I'm extremely out of my depth with measurements, and I don't know where they sit when it comes to great specs. They are not the most sensitive speakers from what I've read and they seem to need a little volume to get the best sound out of them. These days, I like lower volume listening but I do like to wind them up now and then.

I just performed a little upgrade on my speakers. The acoustic foam on the front of the speakers rotted into a gooey mess. I stripped both speakers and added 1" X 1/2" F13 felt.

I've had some nice conversations in the direct message section here with some NHT owners or previous owners.

I am pretty satisfied with these speakers however, I am very interested in the Perlisten R7T speakers and I would add either two Perlisten R10s subs or two R12s subs.

Without an audition I can't say I'd like them more, but from what I've read here they seem to be one of the best passive speaker options available.

I have to start at the beginning of this thread and read through more of it but I wanted to chime in here.

Amir told me some of my direct messages might be seen as spam or a bot posting until I have a few more forum posts so I'm trying to get involved in some of these conversations. Unfortunately you are all a lot more knowledgeable than I am so my ramblings are mostly my subjective views.

I found the very first stereo system I owned as a younger lad.
