This could take a while...

SVS SB-3000 subwoofer (x2)
Adams Audio D3V

There may be others in storage that I've forgotten about...

Times they are a changing... I traded these for these:

1986 Klipsch Belles and a homemade (LilMike) horn sub in the 2 channel system. The Belles have the top Volti upgrades and then more on top of that. Was just listening to an Alabama Shakes song where my wife and I decided the strange sound in the background we both heard that was in time with the music must be the metronome.

Sensitive speakers are both a blessing and a curse.

Not that it takes a speaker that is terribly sensitive but you know you're there when you can hear someone drop something in Harlem Rose within the first minute

Those "beauties" are gone... someone else is scratching them.
So not your running the 8C's
Do you believe they could hang with your old horn rig dynamically and for SPL?

Their dynamics, imaging, neutrality of tone, and bass extension all match or exceed my large horn speakers, but they do not playback over 105dB... the large horns were still loafing at 112dB.

This is all unexpected. A few years ago, I went to someone's house to audition 8-channel speakers. It wasn't a great experience. Perhaps the unsuitable room, the lack of subwoofers, and some setup errors (??) played a role. Either way, it was nice to turn on my sloppy home system when I returned.

The most important component in any system is the nut that sits in the listening chair ! ;)

8c is the model name, not shorthand for 8-channel

Surround system is Klipsch RF7ii fronts, RC-64ii center, RS-62ii side surrounds, old KG 3.5 for rear surrounds, and a giant LilMike horn sub. I need to spend some more time with the mic in that space. I don't really like how the Yamaha processor set things up.

Then I've got a bunch of diy stuff. Ewaves with a LilMike horn sub on wheels in the garage. That system loads onto a cart and we take it outside to watch movies.

DIYSG speakers in a bonus room painted sparkle purple with a diy chip amp in a sparkle teal box. We've also got an old Beomaster and I built speakers for it that need to go in the trash. But they have sentimental value. That system is still in a box from when we last moved. The system I mentioned earlier with Klipsch Belles took over the job that the Beomaster used to fill.
