What should I replace my Carver amp with?

with my 2.2 setup, I've been using my dad's old Carver M200t as my power amp. It's powerful but loud and probably consumes more electricity than I would like just leaving it on. On one end, I have a minidsp Flex feeding into it, going out to Rega ELA speakers and 2 RSL Speedwoofer Mk II. Since we'rem too lazy to turn the amp on and off, we want to switch to something more modern where we don't have to worry about idle power consumption.

What fits this mold?
I get the sense that a Bucvkeye or Audiophonics Hypex soluti0on might be overkill.
Would two Fosi Audio monoblocks fit the bill? Should I look at anything else?

The Carver MIGHT not be consuming excess energy when idle. Does it get hot when idle? Do you have a Kill-A-Watt or a way of measuring it?

Class-D amplifiers are more efficient when pumping power into speakers but they don't necessarily consume less idle power or when putting-out low power.

Some modern amps and most modern receivers/AVRs have low-power standby mode which may be automatic when there is no signal for some period of time.
