What should I consider for speakers close to front wall?

I'd like to have a TV with two good speakers on the wall facing the kitchen in the image below. It's a 15" depth from that wall to the passageway on the right. What should I consider in selecting speakers to be either on stands or wall-mounted on the sides of the TV? I listen mostly to jazz and classical music. For jazz I want to hear good acoustic bass with clear articulation without boominess. I want orchestral music to be full sounding and detailed. I don't need earth shaking bass or super high SPL, but enough dynamic range for orchestral music.

I'm thinking something like WiiM Ultra to Genelec 8361 speakers, but I wonder if there are designs that would be better at mitigating boundary effects. I'm also open to passive speakers connected to something like WiiM Amp Pro.

Since you didn’t mention price, look at the Dutch & Dutch 8C (they are not cheap). They employ a cardiod design and want to be close to the front wall.

Usually, one would pick speakers with shelved down bass response for close proximity to the front wall. E.g:

But with the addition of a WiiM Ultra or speakers with built-in DSP like the 8361A, the shape of the stock bass response becomes irrelevant as the resulting in-room response can be easily corrected.

What's left is to ensure that, if the speaker is rear vented, the port has enough distance to the wall to work as intended (see owner's manual).

Sealed, front ported, or speakers with passive radiators help here.

You could consider the SA Legend 7.2 Silverback https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...CBsQAQ&sqi=2&usg=AOvVaw3eSQ5syzqCVjBs45bhDXdX

Genelec says <= 0.6m

Either brand should work for you ...

Look for designs where you can adjust their bass output, so contemporary actives or traditional designs with outboard PEQ, personally I believe a cardioid response offers advantages .

+1 on EQ for FR,

However, based on Awesome image clip it looks like the imaging may be compromized by the R speaker being against its sidewall and the L speakers side being open to?

Genelec already have a range of manual EQ settings to deal with proximity to walls and other common objects.

GLM will correct for the actual measured response. You could use a WiiM or other external DSP as well, the EQ to deal with wall-proximity isn't exotic. Also, Genelec aren't the only active speaker with boundary-proximity correction controls.

The 8361A work incredibly well near a wall. So do the smaller Genelec. So do many other speakers with appropriately shelved bass response, or appropriate EQ to adjust the bass.
